A great collection of 4K's and 2025 could be the year of Fincher.

So many great titles once again. Don't understand why some people still want to trumpet the death of physical media. It's just gone back to being niche like it was in the beginning. I recall buying expensive US import DVDs in the early 2000s and it's basically that all over again with just much much much more choice given all the specialist boutique labels as well as studio releases. I have a fair few of the ones you highlighted but unfortunately had to let a fair few gobas well. Space issues aside you almost have to be a multi millionaire these days to be able to get all of the titles you'd really like to get. However I guess having too much to choose from is a great issue to have and the physical media market seems pretty healthy from my perspective and I imagine 2025 will just bring us even MORE great treasures to discover!

In Britain, Withnail and I is beyond a cult classic, it’s almost an institution in itself. I’m both delighted and intrigued that you, as an American, just gets it. I’ve met fellow Brits that it didn’t click with but in comparison a Japanese friend of mine thinks it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. It’s one of my personal favourites and this Arrow set is incredible. Thank you.

I can see how it would be a classic over there- it’s truly wonderful and so funny.

Brian, I had the same thing happened to me this year with le Doulos. I had watched it once before and remembered liking it. About half an hour into the rewatch I couldn’t remember why I thought it was so good, but by the end it was better than I remembered. Thank you for this video. Always appreciate your knowledge, curiosity and enthusiasm for movies. Super helpful as I try to catch what I missed this year, or be reminded what is already on my shelf.

Some really great pics Mr. Saur. What a year! Invasion of the Body Snatchers is a bet of a mess but the special features are good. I would add The Conversation to the list. Love Prime Cut. Definitely an underrated gem from that era and a unique entry in Ritchie's filmography. It's a little shocking that PC is the first 4k from him. Bad News Bears? Nope. The Candidate? Nope. Heck The Candidate isn't even on Blu ray. What is Criterion waiting for?! 2025 should be great too. Really surprised and excited that Night Moves is coming. My favorite from Penn.

Shoutout to Radiance that also had some great releases this year!

Agreed, not too many 4Ks (if any?) but Radiance is a very solid label

Like you, I'm not the biggest giallo guy, usually finding them not wholly satisfying. But Celluloid Dreams' release of 'Bloody Iris' (a movie that rarely appears on "top" giallo lists) set something off in my brain. I've since discovered some other gialli that really resonated with me (most of which also do not appear on "best gialli" lists). Looking forward to their release of 'Short Night' which I believe has an April release date.

@@JustTheDiscsIn terms of not-on-blu (potential) gems, I sought out Death Steps in the Dark ('77) which successfully works in some comedy. It stars a favorite of mine, Leonard Mann (Forgotten Pistolero needs a blu). Similarity-titled but quite different is Death Falls Lightly ('72) which defied expectations; a strange entertaining entry. Otherwise, it was just pulling stuff from the embarrassingly oversized unwatched blu-ray pile. Those I've enjoyed thus far: The Killer Must Kill Again ('75), Who Saw Her Die? ('72), Crazy Desires of a Murderer ('77), Crimes of the Black Cat ('72), Naked You Die ('68), and The Pyjama Girl Case ('78).
