Fair for putting your hand in your pocket and getting it so you can do a review. The tear down was hell of a lot tidier than the first one massive improvement. But for 500 currency you could get a steam deck and have the same performance plus room for tweeking

I understand that this is about what is possible today. But before I spend 500€ for something like that I'll get me some ayn with snapdragon gen2 and emulate ps2. real hardware or not. from a technical and crafting point of view, this is really great.

i don`t know if it is a good idea in general to buy such high priced technical stuff from ali. you just never know what you really get, import is very expensive and sometimes restricted. money back is a pain the azz and you have just no real support at all. its also not too smart to make it even more pricey as a ps5 by the way 😂..cheers

I'm surprised that you didn't notice the gaps when you move the sticks to the side, Those gaps are going to allow dust in and cause drift. Only other thing I would add to your possible improvements is a bigger screen as it looks quite small.

Wow that's a real Sony Playstation motherboard! Does it have a mod chip installed? If not the memory card is likely just Free McBoot on a Chinese knock-off memory card without MagicGate and some apps installed on the card for emulation. Or maybe it's an integrated MX4SIO with a built-in NAND instead of a SD card slot.

A bit pricey for what it is, would only be worth it if it was loaded with all the PS2 games, but then you would need about 18tb memory i think?😅

I seriously doubt that. A lot of ps2 games are not as big as you would think they are.

I don't get it how do you play a game on it where does the disk go? Or does it go on the SD card? Is this something new or is this old? Like I said I never heard of this before. I didn't know that they put games on SD cards back in 2003 or 2004

Nah. Too big, screen not the best... $500 is way too much. Wait for the Odin 2 for $3-400. More powerful. Better screen. Plays up to Switch. PS2/GC upscaled. All below GC will play perfectly upscaled. Device doesn't look like it's a brick from 1989.....

That display looks absolutely atrocious and a complete dealbreaker for me. Also, ditch the massive speakers and make the display much larger. This is 2023. No one wants to play on a Gameboy/DS screen in this Era. Intriguing device, but that display is disgusting

I just don't see the point of these home made systems based on ps2 or GC or whatever else these days, you can easily get better performance and better looking games via emulation on steamdeck or odin 2 or similar for less money than this, they look great and are light and slim compared to this ugly as hell behemoth that looks really crap quality, just pointless imho, even my phone with emulation and a gamesir x2 pro is waaaaay better than this.
