Great idea! I read through some of the comments here and it got me to thinking. If you have smaller collections this would be great but if you have a large collection then you could use these cases for your more expensive pieces and bags for the rest. Its just that the plastic bins gives you that extra piece of protection when in storage. As I don't have a lot of 6" figures the pencil boxes would be great for me and 3-4" boxes in the larger case well I may need 2 or 3 of those but they are going to be great for me as well all I now need are something for the cardbacks.

BEST ADVICE ON KEEPING YOUR COLLECTION ORGANIZED! Found myself at Michael’s and thought about this video. Replayed it while at the store to make sure I was getting the right ones, the pencil box AND the photo box. I bought the remaining 6 they had on stock and 1 case of 16 photo box set. I was anxious to find out how they would all fit. AGREE, the pencil box was the best container to fit and retain accessories for the 6 inch figures. SOMEWHAT AGREE, on the photo box container. 4 Star Wars 3.75 in figures fit in 1 photo box. This is ideal for the 4 in 1 box set troop builders. I’m on the fence on individual figures. I would not want the accessories to be mixed with each other. I’m the type that prefers to have his mashed potatoes separate from his steak. In short this could be a Me thing. What separates Hoarders from Collectors is the way the items are kept and maintained. As my collection grows, your video has helped defined me as a Collector… and shows my wife that I do have control over myself and a good head on my shoulders. 😅

I have to look around to see what are the options. Looking for the average height rather than fitting even the bigger ones. But this is a pretty good idea. I like that they are clear plastic so you can see what is inside. But you should have a label maker to really give that extra organization... hahaha... I think Serpentor is closer to McFarlane figures. So, I think they will fit unless they are like the bigger figures like Bane, Hulk Thanos and such.

I use the Simply Tidy ones for all my 6" figures. Some of the taller ones, I have to pop the heads off. I haven't tried Serpentor yet. I'm guessing he probably won't fit. For years I have used those plastic dinner leftover containers that you can buy for like a pack of six of them for five bucks at Walmart. I can't remember the exact size but it's roughly medium size. There's no dividers or anything inside to get in the way and you can fit up to a a 6-in figure and perhaps even taller. The only problem is they don't stack very deep and tend to fill up a bin rather quickly. Eventually I just busted everything out of those and put them in court sized plastic bags. You can get quite a few into a bin and the possibility of figures having warped joints and so forth isn't as much as I had figured it would be. And anything that does get a work joint, just bust out the heat gun

Seems like an excellent solution, but i've literally got HUNDREDS of figures so this wouldn't be cost effective for me. I totally agree that baggies, especially the cheap ones u get at the dollar store, aren't the best idea and eventually lead to plastics breaking down and figure warping on some pieces, but until I can find a source for bulk purchases of something like what you showed off today, that's my best bet.
@BaldyLockz Жыл бұрын
Yes, it’s definitely a great solution but maybe not for a massive collection. I have a few ideas for bulk I’m working on. This idea is more for someone like me that rotates open figs or uses them for photography. I still have a large collection but not massive like some.
@IdleHandsBlog Жыл бұрын
@@BaldyLockz Now imagine a massive collection that is routinely used for toy photography! I'm still trying to find the best way to organize diorama pieces, accessories and playsets in a way that doesn't make me insanely ADHD.
@IdleHandsBlog Жыл бұрын
That said, the photo holder case is great for accessories you find yourself using very often, tho they don't leave much room for effects, but my solution for that is just leave 3 or 4 cases out and put the effects in baggies, in the open spaces, so now you've got a nice little travel pack for a shoot.
@eyhtwozed2606 Жыл бұрын
Almost went with this idea but i thought it would be economical to get a big box like those toyogo box and have my legends stack on top of one another.
@BaldyLockz Жыл бұрын
That’s a solid idea too. I use this more to be able to grab just the characters I want for photography.
@richardcoleman14272 ай бұрын
Sorry but I think this is an insane idea. 1. you have to go out and buy say 100 plastic boxes for 100 figures - so there is a huge cost to that. 2. The space of 100 plastic boxes 'could be' the same as 100 figures in their original packing - which would kinds defeat taking them out of the box. 3. You are going to have to now pack say 25 plastic boxes in yet another say plastic box. Myself I think I would pack in plastic bags, with accessories and leaflets in other smaller bags in the main figure bag. The figure will be just as protected as a hard container as the figures are not rubbing against each other, I've yet to lose paint through the use of even a thin plastic bag !! Also 100 could also fit in 1 large plastic container. The main issue with collecting figures is SPACE in my own humble opinion. I am lucky that I have a loft, 3 spare bedroom and a garage I can convert, so space for me is OK - for many SPACE is at a premium, so I would like to see you do a video on best storage when space is NOT an option
