First of all, the way the abandoned cart works is if the customer makes a purchase they exit the flow and will no longer receive the following emails. Also, just my experience, but sales generally requires some pressure to get customers to move through the buying cycle. Lastly, if they don't buy after this series of emails, there's a good chance they aren't your customer. Thanks for watching!

Do you need to add a trigger after each email? So if the customer has placed an order since starting the flow, they'd exit the flow.

No, the Abandoned Cart Flow is set up with a "Flow Filter" that's set to "Placed order zero times since starting this flow". Flow filters will be checked before each email is sent. So, if someone makes a purchase after starting this flow they will be removed before the next email gets sent. This is one of the reasons why the abandoned cart flow is so powerful, you can set up a lot of emails but they will only be sent to people that haven't made a purchase yet.

Damn, Klaviyo is depressing. Finally created an abandoned cart flow, and when I went to my website, entered all my details, and left a checkout.... IT DIDN'T WORK. Not a single email is received after 10 minutes (which is the time of the first one). Any idea?

Could be a couple of reasons, under metrics, make sure the "Add to cart" metric is firing when something gets added. Then go into the flow and click on the trigger and click on "preview trigger setup" this will show you all the trigger events, yours should be there. Then click on the actual email in the flow and then click on "view all analytics" for that email, then click on "recipient activity" which will show you what got sent or skipped and why. Also, make sure "Smart Sending" is off on the email. Also, check your spam. If this is too confusing, DM me on Instagram and I'll help.

Hey Eli, at 0:15 in the Added to Cart flow why have you set flow filter "Added to Cart zero times since starting this flow", if someone adds another product to cart while in this flow, do they stop getting the emails?

That's the default for the "Abandoned Cart - Added To Cart Trigger" flow, it's there to prevent someone from receiving emails for each product they add. If they add another product they would enter the flow twice, but the second time would fail the flow filter. Hope that helps.

If you're using unique coupon codes you have to set up the code in the Coupons section of Klaviyo and then add a placeholder variable in your flow email, then Klaviyo will create the unique coupon code right before it sends the email. And if you have the Shopify integration set up it will create the code on the Shopify side for you.

Also at 14:40 when sending product specific emails, why not just configure an additional filter in the email itself rather than creating a trigger split

The trigger split lets you create a split in your flow based on characteristics of the Trigger event, so if you wanted to send additional emails based on that product, you could. Adding additional filters on the email itself just further filters who will receive that particular email, and I don't think it lets you filter based on the products selected in the event.

Good for you! This is an abandoned cart email series, it helps people make the decision to complete the purchase they started. Some will ignore it, and some might block it, that's life.
