Dave you're the expert and I'm confused 😬 D2 and Stems. In the default mapping, is there a way to Mute per Stem by touching a button combination? So not use the fader but a direct button combo, working similar to the bottom row on the F1? (On F1 default mapping of course no modifier required) I checked the D2 manual but did not find any mention of Mute Stem. Tried Midi-Mapping it but did not succeed yet, and useless if there's actually a way to do it in the default mapping 🙂 Using the fader to mute/unmute does not give the same quality result.. (I did manage to midi-map Loop Active On function to D2, plus Deck Focus Selector and Move Loop - or + 1 beat. Took trail and error but happy with the results I achieved 🙂)

Hey. Yes the buttons above the fader are mute buttons as well. Use the arrow buttons left and right to change the function of the buttons. If you get stuck, just shout.

Those buttons, in the manual referred to as Performance Buttons 1-4, that's where I'd expect to be able to Mute per Stem, and that's what I tried to use when Midi-Mapping with a modifier, but in default mapping I can use the two arrows to switch between Filter and FX Send (and FX, if 4 FX units are selected in preferences), not Volume. With those Performance Buttons I can turn On/Off Filter and FX Send per Stem, but not Mute per Stem ☹️ No mention also of any such Mute per Stem function in the D2 Manual (no mention of Stems at all in D2 manual, but also no Mute function for Performance Buttons in Remix Mode.. F1 can, D2 can't 😵‍💫) In S8 Manual also no mention of Mute per Stem. As I wrote I tried to Midi-Map them, but you cannot assign Slot Mute On to 'Global' Slot 1. You need to select a Deck, which makes it unworkable unless you will use D2 only specifically for 1 Deck..

You can control stems on one deck and then switch the f1 to the other deck and control that one. So individual

Hey Dave! Is there a fix for stems when loading into traktor not analyzing on a Mac.. I saw the NI forum about it.. Still a little confused as to how to fix or batch process..Apparently since the stems aren't the same exact length it errors when trying to load. Figured I'd ask you again, cause your apparently the dude when it comes to this forgotten and underutilized way of DJ ING. I really want to give this a go, but running into a few roadblocks. I don't have an f1, but I do have a fair amount of stems I've bought in the past..

They are legit stems from Beatport, free remix sets downloaded from NI also say corrupted or missing...I'm guessing this is a Mac issue only..?

I'm 75% on getting traktor f1..can f1 use with s2 mk3 for playing with each elements in stem file?as s2 mk3 alone can only play the whole song..

100% you can rig up 4 F1 units to you computer with any other controller.

Yes essentially but it doesn’t have to be used for that reason. There’s lots of ways to use it that can fit your way of djing.
