actually you're absolutely right the creators haven't added the very stuff we can do in PS but in Ai for vectors. These things been out there for a while and some are just using the fact that Adobe didn't do anything for their users about this. people are already paying monthly for CC was that hard to implement?
@ShaneRounce4 жыл бұрын
You can do most, if not all of these things, within Illustrator, albeit not as easily. Astute Plugins are an actual con. They used to sell the ones you needed, individually, for just $25 each. Months after buying those, they updated to the subscription model that I could never afford and made the old plugins I had purchased totally unusable. They ripped off so many people.
@kyorising4 жыл бұрын
@@ShaneRounce except they used to be hundreds.. I owned most of them before the subscription model. I was -pissed- when they went subscription and wouldn't update the owned versions. That said, they absolutely work fantastically well and save me a ton of time working in illustrator every day.

@DaveClayton4 жыл бұрын
@@ShaneRounce Just to clarify, no they weren't $25 each, some were free and then ranged between $19 - $79 each. The old plugins you purchased still work with CC2019 and up to Mojave. Catalina and Adobe CC2020 forced all the plugins to be completely re-engineered to work with both and a bundle of plugins that previously cost over $600 in total are now $119 which includes all new plugins, all updates and free design resources - an all existing customers (who didn't unsubscribe from the emails) received an offer to get the whole suite for $49. And those designers that can make money from using Illustrator are finding the plugins are already paying for themselves. And yes, myself and 13 other colleagues work for Astute Graphics, we are a small company that have wages to pay. We are not a corporate like Adobe.

Many of the features of the plug ins mentioned are available via illustrator alone. The colour adjustments can be done ‘in real time’ also in edit colours via illustrator settings, with a variety of different settings and control. The plug in to fix the number of vectors and paths can be simplified via the new improved feature by illustrator, if you go to object, path then simplify. And I am sure there are alternative options for the other plug ins via illustrator if you fiddle around with it. I just think these plug ins are a waste of money to be honest. But thanks for the review, I do wish however you compared the plug ins with the alternative current options available via illustrator alone.

please explain how you take outlined text, from any vector file, and revert it into editable text.. I'll wait. Grifters. This is like attaching an autofocus lens to a pencil. Illustrator is a drawing tool. You want Photoshop-type color control? Put your design into Photoshop after you're done. MIND BLOWN! As for file size: Literally NEVER an issue with vector graphics. That's why you use Illustrator in the first place! If you can't create economic paths to begin with, teach yourself how to do it. "Cleaning them up" with any sort of automation after the fact will create results that you won't like, I guarantee it. Only you know what you want your design to look like, no automated algorithm can take care of that for you in an artistic way. Don't waste your money on these hucksters.

Astute are criminals. I bought their plugins and they switched to the subscription model the next month and required the full purchase price for compatibility in Illy 24. Not to mention- If you only find one of their plugins actually useful they don't have an ala carte subscription model!! Even Adobe has that.
@SatoriGraphics4 жыл бұрын
I didn't know about the switching of subscriptions, that does seem a tad nefarious. I do agree about having the ability to purchase 1 or a few of the plugins instead of the whole lot, that would make more sense.

Same here! Plus as a subscription one would think they could "lower" their prices a bit. I sadly purchased their plugins way back and now I can't use them. It's very sad. Also, I expected they would offer at least subscribing to one or two plugins of your choice but no, you have to get the entire package. I hope a competition comes out soon.
@shirwan4 жыл бұрын
To be fair, with Astute Graphics you get to own the plugins after the subscription runs out, you'll just be stuck running an older version and won't be capable to update unless you renewed your subscription, unlike Adobe where the subscription ends so does your ability to run their programs no matter how old the version you have installed.
@mikeo7594 жыл бұрын
@@shirwan I'm not even against the subscription model. But at least give people a choice instead of forcing all of the crap they sell as one lump package. Yeah cool plug-ins but it sucks that it’s subscription and you have to pay for the whole lot even though youll most likely only use 1 or 2. I hate that all these companies including Adobe are now moving to subscriptions and manipulating people into continuing payments. Adobe was better when you could just purchase the suite and it would last you for 4 or 5 years. Now unless you keep paying them you cannot use it and therefore cannot even open your own work. It’s pathetic. If astute allowed people just to purchase whatever plugin they wanted I would definitely buy but wont be signing up for yet another subscription. They can blow it out their arse.
