Well, Florida, US here, I grew mine from seeds last year. I have two in the ground and two in pots (preparing the food forest) . I only have one fruit so far, certainly not as green as yours so apparently needs fertilizer (summer here). Thank you the tip on cutting the leaves.

Thanks for your comment, yes I have grown many from seeds but never been as good as buying a quality bisexual seedling

Love your pawpaws Robbie. Best I've seen in a long time. Can you recommend a local nursery you buy them from?

Hi Michael, I just got mine from Bunnings, but it should be safe to get them from any large reputable Nursery

Hi thanks for the info. II just started to grow a papaya tree and it's a bisexual golden one. I have a lot of fruits on it atm. My questions to you is how long does the fruits take to ripe on the tree? Do the fruits up the top get bigger? I live in SE Qld too, will the small fruits at the top drop off in Winter as we are in Autumn now? How long do these trees live? Many thanks.

Hi thanks for your questions, The fruits usually take around 3 months from small fruit to ripening in the warmer months, during the colder months the fruit may not grow any bigger until it starts warming up again, the tree in general will not do much during the cold months as they really hate the cold, the fruit shouldn’t drop off if the tree stays healthy and will continue to grow again when it warms up,

Hi there, I have almost finished watching this video. Just awesome advice. Thanks. A question please, when you say hardly water the Pawpaw in Winter, I am pretty much a beginner, is there an indication how much or jow often to water in Winter? Do I let the soil dry out? Also, do you perhaps have a recommendation on fertilizer, any spesific brand or type. Thanks 🌷

Hi there, thanks for your questions, yes definitely let your soil dry out in winter and maybe just a light spray of water around the base of the tree around once a week in the mornings so it has time to sry out by the night If your plant wilts a bit maybe give a bit more water, I use a charlie carp and seaweed liquid fertiliser concentrate and mix with water in a watering can and water around the base during the growing seasons, but not in winter and very little in Autumn I also buy an organic potash and potassium fertiliser separately so I can add either during the flowering and fruiting stages, I also use Dolomite for Calcium and magnesium as all fruit trees need this and also Lime for extra Calcium, rooster booster or dynamic lifter is good also to throw around your garden every couple of months during the grow season, just alternate what fertilisers you use every month and use sparingly the high nitrogen ones when starting to flower

Hi Robbie, hardly watering Papaya Trees made me wonder, are other fruit trees similiar in Winter, needing hardly any water, do you perhaps know? Thanks. 😊🌷
@robbymillsfishing52906 ай бұрын
@@karenfourie2449 hi again, yes definitely use a lot less water on most fruit trees during winter as they are usually more dormant and won’t require much water for growth etc, also the sun isn’t as hot so its not going to suck as much moisture out of your plants during the day, if its a fruit tree that only sets fruit in winter you may have to water a bit more frequently but still no where as much as summer
