For anyone interested, I had this watch for over a year before I lost it and showered with it every day and swam with it more than a couple times. Other than salt water which I did not do, the a700 can take water more than fine

I actually love the orange backlight, I think it feels more retro. Blue would definitely be great too but a little more of a ”2002 stereo” feeling in my opinion 😁

I have the f-91, I have small wrists so its one of the few watches I think is sleek enough to not look bulky. I like the rubber strap and black face. The blue, yellow, and red accents give it a nice bit of color. I do wish the light was better, it's just a small green light that comes from the left; barely illuminates the face.

For the Water resistance: I’ve worn this watch almost every day for about 10 months. I never take it off to shower, been surfing with it many times, and snowboarding. I’ve never had a problem with it and don’t expect anyone ever will! Although Casio doesn’t outright say a certain water resistance depth, do whatever you want with it (assuming you’re not going scuba diving).

The A700 is a good pick for a comfy and fashionable watch everyday watch. The W202 is another good option with good backlight, and 50m WR.

Just bought this one. In addition to the backlight etc it also comes with a mineral glass face as opposed to the plexiglass/plastic ones in models like the A158.

You must have bought an A700WM. The A700 WEM, more generally available in the UK has a plastic 'glass'.

I've hade many of these, they are really durable. I've worn them swimming diving, in the sauna. The gold versions (I've had 2) does lose some of the "gold" plating after some ware. So even if the watch will hold up for a long long time, it might become abit rugged after like a years ware.

I’m on my third silver a158 and I’ve found that the plating wears off on those as well. I normally notice it after maybe 4 months of wearing the watch 24/7 (literally the only time I take it off is to shower). For the price point i accept that that’s what happens with them, but it’s always a bit disappointing when I first notice that red tinge peeking through :(

Concordo com as outras versões citadas no video terem muita informação numa tela tão pequena. Mas eu amo o f91w e o a168. Mas pra quem se incomoda muito com o excesso de letras na tela do a168, tem uma versão dele (que tenho aqui como minha favorita) com o display minimalista, tela lcd negativa e uma pulseira de malha igual a esse a700 que também é lindo. Optei por esse porque embora o a168 seja um clássico, aqui onde moro ainda não vi ninguem com o mesmo modelo de a168 que o meu🙏 kk

I agree that it's more elegant and also sits better on the hand because it's slimmer than the cheaper Casio series. But you forgot to mention that its battery life is only 3 years against theirs of 7 years. Probably this is the price to pay for the brighter light, may also be that the slimmer design doesn't accommodate a larger battery.

Aaah! There's a reason for the LED to be kinda redish (instead of whiteish); in dark situations, when you need a really good night vision (say camping, stargazing, trying to break in, etc.), If you need to check the time, a reddish light won't glare you like a whiteish light, therefore won't make you lose your night vision.

Definitely agree the orange light makes it easier to read but I think the 168 has a blue light and I would have preferred that.

Hey Harry I am also a huge fan of this casio as well as the Casio Round which looks amazing imo. If I were you I'd check out the Daniel Wellington ICONIC LINK which in terms of style is the best (analog) watch for me, you can wear it with more classy/fancy outfits and it's a compact watch in its 36mm version.

It does not age well, when worn daily,the underlying copper layer starts to show inthe housing,also in deep scratches. My housing broke within 4 years next to the wriststrap. But still nice, thin and light. Now Iam looking to something as thin with a steel housing. Any suggestions?

Highly recommend Seiko 5 series, or Orient, you could probably find a nice semi formal Orient watch, check their websites or any shops near you. They are around 200-300. They have Automatic movements too.
