Nicely done! The build, and the presentation were as usual intricacy simplified. And did you know you sound very like the Walt Disney Presents nature narrator from the seventies?

I love how your captions explore the statements your voice / talking-head runs. This is in contrast with Steve Jobs, he would use font-typeface as focal-tag points (typically one or two words). You are allowing the viewer to explore your thread-topics in a slightly different direction (jokes, factoids, etc). I will steal this idea from you Knarb - and thanks. You are the calm-voiced entertainer of our choice!

If I had the $ for a laser cutter, my current project would have been completed over 2 months ago. It's a pain in the tail accurately cutting out small parts from 22 point chipboard packaging material .

Sir Knarb, I could listen to you read the Sunday ads in the newspaper and I would be entertained. You just have that magical quality to your voice. I personally will never have a need for a laser cutter but thank you for teaching me about them!

Yo Knarb! I also started laser cutting by using MDF, but I was annoyed because the greasy residue on the bed as well as messy charred edges. Try finding some 3mm birch plywood, its sooooo much better. No charring AT ALL! Much much cleaner workflow! Cheers man!!!

Hey dude! Funny you should mention it, I just picked up a giant sheet of 3mm plywood to cut down and use for this purpose. Its a lot easier to work with for sure.

IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! If you plan to jump on aliexpres and get yourself some cheap chinesse lasercutter PLEASE follow laser safety procedures, most of them are around 5W which is extreemply dangerous to human eye. Also DO NOT look at the laser while it's working cover it up. Don't trust the crappy provided ones or those small "acrilic shield around laser module". You have only ONE pair of eyes it's not worth it to cheap out on them. Educate yourself about laser handling for your own good. And do it in well wentilated area, don't forget that you are burning stuff when cutting. If you really have to look at your laser for whatever reason get some expensive glasses graded precisely for your laser wavelength. Avoid lasers where you can't properly check technical information. @Knarb Makes please pin this comment

This is a very informative and useful video, Knarb. I like the new workshop background area, I don't think I've seen it before. Did you cut the EVA sheets with the laser? Your little chariot looks killer!
@KnarbMakes
@KnarbMakes Жыл бұрын
Thanks T-Nu, yeah the full chariot was made with laser cut bits, including the eva foam. Minus the wheel axel, thats just a bbq skewer. Eva cuts way faster on the 50w, i barely have time to walk over to it from the computer and its already done.

I enjoy your blogs its nice to see fellow creatives at work your right it's not my cup of tea I prefer scratch building from rubbish I'd love the latest printer and laser cutter but my budget just doesn't go that far I'm afraid, I have noticed a trend on you tube though a lot of good crafters are now becoming tech users and printers and seem to be using pre designed items in their builds
@KnarbMakes
@KnarbMakes Жыл бұрын
Thanks John. Ive always been a bit more on the tech side of things. For what its worth, most designs I use are my own creations, so it takes a few more button presses than what you are simplifying it down to. My design process takes place on the computer as much as it does in physical space.
