Why are so many people always complaining about micro brands not using a swiss movement. Please explain how a properly regulated Myota 9*** movement is inferior to a SW200-1, for example. I have several Swiss watches with the Selita SW200 and had problems with two of them, while I never had any problem with a Myota. Apart from that, I couldn't agree more, nice review of a beautiful watch. What I especially like about it is how they achieved a very vintage feel and look without copying or "homaging" a specific model, it looks like it was designed half a century ago and still it's very much it's own thing. Thank you for the nice review.

Totally agree, personally a Miyota movement is no bad thing at all. The accuracy of this one has been exceptional. I guess people just see it as not being 'swiss' a downside, when in reality they're just as good, reliable and easy to maintain! Plus it allows watches like this to exist for the price point! Thanks for your comment! Much appreciated!

Very good review, you deserve lots more subcribers! i bought this watch yesterday, it’s my first microbrand watch, i’m vintage collector, it looks like a NOS diver, it’s a beauty, very solid watch in all the way, i have it on bracelet, i don’t know the bracelet receive so much ‘hate’ from many, it’s a good bracelet, beautiful and looks very good on this watch, i like the rubber one too, beautiful and softy i didnt try yet, i think would be very comfortable but i saw in pictures on hand didnt look as good as the bracelet, it’s almost invisible when you look at the watch.

I bought mine online in November 2019 when the second batch became available, at the time I was on a catamaran off the coast of Brazil watching flying fish making aerial runs around the boat

Sounds like an epic trip! Hope you're still liking the Baltic! Thanks for the comment

Thank you for this video. Where did you get the prices from? On the Baltic website prices start at 690,20 € and 618,80 € respectively.

No worries, thanks for the comment! The prices were correct at time of filming, although to be fair it was like eight weeks ago.... ill double check the site and add a pin comment to correct.... damn price hikes!

imagine how much would be in 10 years on the second hand market.

The Baltic looks fantastic and a strong contender as I’m looking for my first mechanical watch 👍 seems good value

I’d reccomend it or the glycine combat sub.

I just got the bronze version in black, and I really like it. Always wanted a bronze watch, and this one is a beauty.

Great video, enjoyed the wrist comparisons with the other watches! This watch is definitely on my radar. I nearly pulled the trigger on it but instead got thrown a curve ball with the Clemence Munroe and bought the highland Amber version! 👍🏻

Thats a great choice! Both offer great value! If you ever decide to pull the trigger on a baltic you wont be disappointed either! Thanks for the comment!

The Grand Central Terminal watch booth in New York City is the Baltic service center for the states. I have drooled over their Baltic’s in the display windows many times on my way home.

Doesn’t much impact your thesis on specs to price ratio, but to your opening q, you can go full Seiko prospex diver for £500, rather than Seiko 5. Samurais, turtles and monsters all under the threshold. But please ignore my pedantry 😂 and keep up the good work! 👍

Thanks Alex, appreciate your comment! Totally get you, there are many options under £500 (which to some may be way better) We we're just trying to stress that for the money (and build quality) the Baltic is a compelling option! Thanks for the support!

@@ninefortyfour for sure it is. Didn’t mean to parr off Seiko 5 either. Great watches 🙂

I reached out to this lot to buy this watch. I asked if they did sales or any opportunity to grab it at 5% off the price so I could avoid 15% import fees on my end. They said no. I went elsewhere.

I purchased the blue gilt version about 2 years ago. I strongly suggest you get the white lumed version. I thought I would grow to like the faux patina but it never happened. Love the understated blue sunburst dial but the sun bleached bone 🦴 colored lume just rubs me the wrong way. I'd much rather have white lume that I could darken with actual age.

This or the Bulova Mils Ship ?

I'd vote Baltic. They both look good, but the Baltic has a Miyota 9 series movement, vs the Bulova's Miyota 8 series
