If you were to include Fitzroy, Hayden Bunton stats were simply incredible. He won 3 brownlows in just 119 games. And the only player in history to achieve at least 1 Brownlow vote per game. He also won 3 Sandover medals when he played in the WA comp. The only player to win 3 Sandovers and 3 Brownlows. He also a highly regarded cricketer that had the potential to play test cricket. Your list is pretty much perfect in my view although I would definitely swap cousins for Judd. Judd was significantly the best in the comp for some time while wearing the blue and yellow.

As a Collingwood supporter I'd have to put Syd Coventry, Gordon Coventry, Harry Collier, Albert Collier, Bob Rose and possibly Lou Richards ahead of the great Nathan Buckley. I also think Haydn Bunton should be considered the best player for the Brisbane Lions. It is a merged club after all. Coleman is a good choice for Essendon but I favour Dick Reynolds over Coleman. Similarly, I feel that Jack Dyer or Royce Hart should be considered Richmond's best. Other than those alterations it was a great list that I largely agree with. Good job.

Pavlich over Fyfe, a absolute champion & like Rooey from my team the Saints. Pav did everything he could to win a flag 4 his club, then again many champions have walked away with out a flag. I'd check on Lethal Leigh as well because lm sure you said 1 all Australian on his resume. The best player lve seen has more than one or they weren't handing them out through his career. There are to many greats to rank especially since we will never see them play ever. I love Lou Richards, but Buckley & the rest someone named like Bobby Rose leave Lou behind. Buckley's kicking puts him in the pies top 5 with Pendles, Scott it's a absolute pleasure to watch you play champion 👍

It's always interesting when someone says they think Gary Ablett Junior was the better player. Often they're letting Ablett Snr personal life bias their view and also never actually saw him play live. As someone who been at the games watching both playing at their absolute peak, sorry there is just no debate. Ablett senior was simply more skillful, explosive, exhilarating and most of all unstoppable then his son. If you think stats and decorations are what decide the better player you don't really understand why people watch football. Junior was great, but we've had quite a few champions like him (superb midfielders) over the years. There has only ever been one Gary Ablett Snr.

Comparing Coleman to Hudson is like splitting hairs. Generally players are rated on how dominant they are in their eras compared their contemporaries. Coleman played in a much lower scoring era, the game was played differently in his era compared to Hudson. Both outstanding and legendary players of course but the differences being in Hudson's era, many players were kicking tonnes, hence he won the league goalkeeping award 4 times in 7 years, compared to Coleman 5 times in 5 full seasons. The other difference is that Coleman had not hit his peak at the time of his injury, it was only his 6th season in senior football, compared to Huddo retiring in about his 10th senior season (having played several seasons in Tasmania's highest league). Many of those who saw Coleman play rate him the best they ever saw & by a fair margin, but again. As I said, like splitting hairs, you would probably rate them equal, easily both legends.

When it comes to Brisbane's Michael Voss and his early career when Brisbane were known as the Bears, you might want to do a video that looks at Brisbane's run into the 1995 Finals and how they needed to win 6 of their final 7 games just to make their first Finals appearance. That could be worth looking into as I remember it as the stuff of Legends how it turned a team that was a Laughing Stock into a well developed team that went on to merge with the Fitzroy Lions the following year saving the Lion's legacy.

Peter Matera rates right up there. Infact as far as gutsy freakishly good things on a football field, take into consideration the VFL became the AFL and no Victorian wanted an Interstate side winning their Cup. Roo helped win 2 of them and a Norm Smith medal in the early days of AFL were Geelong in particular found out, trying continually to take his head off and team mates, was a mistake that had a reverse effect. Darren Jarman is the best player the crow's ever had. Who else in the history of the AFL VFL ever kicked 5 goals in the final quarter of a grand final. He's the only one I know of. Jr Ablett doesn't come near his father as a player. You mustn't know about Petter Hudson from Hawthorn. Kicked 150 goals in 1971. Was a superstar. You need to google him. Kevin Bartlett is still Richmond's best player. Cousin's also played for Richmond. Just giving you my opinion. These are good video's. I subscribed . Why don't you do best kicks for goal. Peter McKenna has to be number one and I'm a Richmond supporter.🎉🎉🎉

I'd revisit your Hawthorn list, but admittedly they have a huge amount of greats, possibly the hardest team to pick as some of their 2nd stringer greats were better than a lot of other clubs best player. Agree with Leigh Matthews, and Hodge & Mitchell arguably deserve a mention, Burgoyne probably not. I'd be mentioning Peter Hudson, Jason Dunstall, Shane Crawford and maybe Buddy Franklin before Burgoyne and possibly some of them before Hodge & Mitchell...tough calls to make though. You could almost make separate vids for some teams.

It's hard to make an argument against Dick Reynolds for the Bombers. He has 3 Brownlows which is the equal most of any player, 4 premierships all as captain and 7 club B&Fs. Also a team of the century nod. Coleman changed the game and Hird is easily the best Bomber of the modern era but it's still King Richard for me at #1 so it's baffling he wasn't an HM at least.

You lost me when you said that Coleman has the best goalkicking average in VFL/AFL history. That honorific belongs to Peter Hudson. Also, Cousins played in the 2006 winning premiership, not 2005. Buckley never played in a premiership team, which takes him out of the running at the first hurdle. As I wrote in another of your videos, it's Albert Collier as best player at Collingwood, and quite possibly the best player ever.

Albert Collier the best ever player? On what merit?
@petefumberger5225
@petefumberger5225 2 жыл бұрын
@@azzaprime7257 On any merit that any person makes a statement like that. Who can really say who was the best player ever? It's an opinion, going on Mr Collier's record, that I have made. It can't be refuted, it is an opinion, and as such is inviolate, just as your opinion, if you have one, on who you think the greatest player of all time, is. Six premierships, three B&Fs, I think, one Brownlow, one Leitch Medal when he went to play in Tasmania for more money (it was during the depression). Only one player has a better record, and that is Michael Tuck, with his seven premierships, but he could never be classed as the greatest. He was a great journeyman, a very consistent player for many years, part of an amazing club that had so much success. Personally, from those players I have actually seen play, I would go with Wayne Carey. Hope that clears it up for you.
