I know you guys appreciate the videos I upload, I know just how fortunate I am to have such a wonderful group of people supporting me. The pressure never ever comes from you guys it comes from me. When I was a soldier in the British Army, I loved every day of my job, I never once complained no matter how difficult the job became, not even when I shattered and crushed my spine. I was so ambitious, I would try to be the best Sniper in the Regiment, I wanted to be part of Special Forces and worked so hard to get there. When I started this channel it was really to help my own mental health and then it morphed into helping other people which I loved. I think the issue I had with that one incident was, I had been uploading videos to KZbin for almost 6 or 7 years, I had given over £1500 worth of art supplies away free, I had given art supplies to a women's shelter close to us along with adult and kids colouring books to help the women and their kids, who were forced into those situations because of abusive men. I was never able to take the stuff there myself, my wife and youngest daughter had to take the stuff so as not to scare the women and children by some strange man appearing. But I got to know about teenagers living in the shelter sitting GCSE Art and so would send them art supplies to help them with their course work and exams. Not to mention I literally gave my life for my country and what I thought was helping other people. I done so much more nor did I ever want thanks, never at all, these were all my choices and nobody made me do them, but then I am called an accessory to murder because I reviewed an art supply from Russia. That really hurt me more than I expected and let on. I thought it would be easy moving on from it, but I have to say I have found it harder than I ever thought. I think getting older has made me soft and weak, in the past things like this would never have effected me and now at the age of 50 it has rocked me to the point I don't know how to get back to the way I was regarding content on this channel. I know it will happen, because I want it to happen, I just never thought it would take quite this long.

Thank you so much, Stabilo is budget and everywhere in my local bookstores I’ll go grab a set shortly. Always been curious but never tried, picked the Staedtler over them instead. Prisma is expensive and only available importing thru shopping platforms. It’s normal to have less confidence and procrastinate to post content after what happened for fear that it might recur, hence the saying once bitten twice shy. Take time to recover and find it again. I love your content including majority of your community, reviews are well done and full of info that is helping a lot more people than you can see physically everywhere vs a handful who may have strong opinions or hurtful comments.

Nothing makes me happier when I hear from viewers, subscribers etc that the videos and information I have put out has helped them. One of the biggest problems I struggle with since being medically retired from the British Army after I sustained my spinal injury, was feeling useless. I’ve always worked, provided for my family, been there for friends and family who needed me. Then I had my injury and it turned my life upside down. My wife became the provider, which I don’t have an issue with other than the fact we are a partnership and I never felt like I was pulling my weight, putting in my shift. Then I turned to art and started the channel and it gave me back my purpose. So when I tell you how much a comment like yours and the many others similar to yours means to me, it is 100% genuine. Without the community of which I have been so warmly accepted, my flaws included, I really don’t know where I would be. Thank you so much.

Hullo Harry, I hope your going forward with your channel with a joy in your artworks. Your reviews, I have always found spot on! I am aware that someone has lessened your enjoyment of your channel and all I can say they will always be out there and try not to let them destroy your joy ! I know there is no perfect pencil but personal preferences! My preference changes with the subject as well as paper used for the project! Please work on the projects/reviews that will bring you joy and happiness. We will benefit from your knowledge and you are appreciated, never doubt this! Stay safe over there and take care of yourself and your family. This is your most important job from where I am sitting. I do not believe you lost viewers from your opinions, but because you stopped posting videos and KZbin punishes inconsistent posting of content! I know it will get better and just be happy with where you are. Have a happy day, eh? OK!

I bought the Verithins about a year ago, and I was completely let down. Every single pencil was so off center that they couldn’t be sharpened. I tried my Dahle 133, several different good quality hand held sharpeners, and my electric sharpener. Nothing gave a good exposed tip. I contacted Amazon and got my money back, but I was never able to use them. I’ll definitely look for the stabilios. Thank you for the video!

You need to do what makes YOU happy! People will always sense if you're enjoying yourself or not. If you're doing videos that you enjoy doing that matters far more than the speed of your growth. But people are attracted to people who are doing what they're passionate about! So you're audience will grow from that too. Those will also tend to be more positive and supportive viewers! It's vital in life to be true to yourself!💕

I really like the earthier greens and browns in the Stabilo set. Unfortunately the 38 set is $100 here in Canada. As for finding your groove again, take all the time you need to reassess and refocus. Your channel will be better for it in the long run and you'll be more at peace with how you move forward. You know your true fans have always got your back no matter what you decide your future looks like.
@TheArtGearGuide

Wow $100 that is crazy, but I guess like I say in the video, with Stabilo being from Germany it must be export expenses that hike the prices up really high in the US and Canada, but $100 is unbelievable. I like them as an alternative, but not $100 like. I thought Australia always over priced, perhaps Canada is following the artists from down under.

I am in the USA, I just looked on Amazon USA. We do have the Stabilo Originals 38 which are currently DOUBLE the cost of Verithins 36 ($45.23 vs $22.43)
@TheArtGearGuide
@TheArtGearGuide Жыл бұрын
In some cases 3 times more expensive, if you look in Blicks or Jerrys the Verithin are even cheaper. This is why I mentioned that I thought the information in this video would be more helpful to those CP artists in the U.K. and Europe who just love Prismacolor but can’t buy them in the U.K. and Europe so need an alternative. The Stabilo Original are just an idea for an alternative to a pencil, artists in the U.K., Europe and further East would love to use only because they can’t buy Prismacolor or when they do find a set, it might be months or even a year leather before those sets become available again. I wish Prismacolor expanded to those areas cause I think they would do really well. Thee single most asked question I get is, “Can I recommend a soft pencil like Prismacolor because we can’t buy them in our country?” I’m sure Prismacolor have their reason why they mainly sell in the US and Canada, I’m guessing export duty etc, but it’s a shame.

Thank you so much for your comment, but what is it that you hope is allowed, the fact that you purchased individual pencils and told others a good place to buy them? if this is what you wondered was allowed, absolutely it is allowed. My priority is not to make money on this channel, my priority is to help subscribers of the channel and viewers of the channel to save money and get the best deals possible and if that information comes from another viewer I love it. The most important thing is that we all share information with each other to help each other. I know some channels, that are ran like a business, only want their affiliate links used and only want certain things spoke about and that is okay because their channel is their livelihood. But this is not the way I run my channel. You can put whatever you like on my channel so long as it is not hurting another person.

@TheArtGearGuide
@TheArtGearGuide Жыл бұрын
The Derwent Inktense will be easy to get because they have just increased the set from 72 to 100 but they have stopped making the Derwent Studio, reduced the Derwent Artist from 120 to a 72 set, doing away with the most lightfast colors in the range and arguably some of the most beautiful colors. I know companies have got to change and make changes, but it still hurts when you see your favourite pencil slashed almost in half. But you will absolutely be able to get the Inktense pencils open stock with no issues

Emma is the best and is by far the very best place to get open stock from, but even Emma will tell you, with pencils like the Verithin, when her stock runs low, it can be months before she is able to replenish her stock. For me personally I don’t have any need for either pencil, or rather, neither are a pencil I would reach for when doing a piece or would panic if I couldn’t replenish a new colour like I would with Luminance, Lightfast, Prismacolor or Polychromos, but there are artists out there who love them and put these pencils to excellent use.

White Nights are a wonderful watercolor paint that originally was 20 bucks for whole pans (24 set) made in Russia. Putin started his war and every thing Russian was taboo. I understand the economic boycott to limit putins funds for his war effort but!! Most of us who have white nights purchased them when they were cheap af for artist grade paint. Even after they doubled in price people in the know got them. Which was prior to said war.
