@edwardpazdzior14206 жыл бұрын
I love trains but I'd rather fly for distances that long. Flying is actually a ton safer as well.
@System6VideoProductions6 жыл бұрын
Edward Pazdzior well no. In my preference I’d rather take a train ANY TIME than an airplane. Think of 9/11 think of the challenger explosion. All the airplane incidents. Sure Amtrak has had there accident and problems. But they were quote “accidental” Amtrak had Mechanical problems, but fixed it immediately. But now that some locomotives that wreck now are scrapped or barely fixed. Now when I rode the train just recently I saw an old Amtrak turboliner in new Acela paint. Which was a surprise to me. But I still prefer trains. Airbus airplanes scare me.
@edwardpazdzior14206 жыл бұрын
I always go by the numbers. Airline safety is technically a ton safer if you look at fatalities per number of people that fly. Amtrak is always late too. It it pretty sad if airlines have a better on time performance than Amtrak. Loading an airplane with luggage and people and flying it to it's destination is much more complex but yet they still get you there "on time" a lot more of the time. Amtrak equipment is ancient. They don't own a majority of the rails they ride on and lose priority and end up sitting and waiting for freight traffic sometimes. I'm sorry but Amtrak is broken and has been for awhile.
@System6VideoProductions6 жыл бұрын
Edward Pazdzior i understand that. But Amtrak isn’t always perfect. But to me Amtrak will always be my fondest memory of railfanning. I’m not against what you said, but you did prove a good point there. But in this video this train was surprisingly on time. Like I said we both have our differences in opinions.

I was trying to offer constructive criticism in a humorous way. This video was almost excellent, only marred by incessant and unnecessary zooming and panning. I watch KZbin on a big screen, and wild camera movement is actually almost nauseating. Several other commenters have mentioned this, some more politely than others. When you took your hands off the camera and left it on the tripod, the video became a 10/10. If we find that one small portion of your video with the zooming annoying, and it hurts your hand to move the camera and zoom it, then why do it. Put it on the tripod and stand back. I like your video, you shouldn't be so thin-skinned and you should be more open to criticism. If you were showing a video to your friend in your house and they said the same thing that I did, I'm sure you wouldn't act so insulted. I honestly am trying to be helpful. @System6VideoProductions6 жыл бұрын
Mark Warren My camera was on a tripod sir, I had left the camera at a certain point, maybe I’m not just steady enough, well I’ve had hand surgery so yeah it’s kinda hard to keep it still. Sorry.

Why do trains over there run with their head lamps on even during day time? Marker lamps are enough to indicate a moving train. So, why glowing head lamps even in day light?

Priyam Ganguly ditch lights on the bottom to warn crossings and it was a requirement in 1990 by the FRA, safety reasons, my friend.

Priyam Ganguly ....Well it is c as led SAFETY and Amtrak rule. It includes all freight railroads.

Jim Harlow like I said, the FEDERAL RAILROAD ADMINISTRATION (FRA) required trains to have ditch lights. That's why before the 90s CONRAIL and other amtraks did not have ditch lights until the FRA said so.

Liam Brady I can tell. But sometimes they will leave them flashing. Only 30 seconds. Then they stop flashing. When they depart the lights will most likely flash again.
