He has the most interesting career in nascar history if you think about it..a pair of championships in the heat of the mid 1980s and in the heat of the mid 1990s...12 years apart with a whopping 2 wins per title. He practically disappeared in the early 90s and then boom with Hendrick.

He's the reason 5 is my favorite number. Growing up watching nascar in the 90's was special. Those Kelloggs paint schemes were amazing.

Late 90’s early 2000’s I remember filling out the back of the cereal box to get the terry labonte 5 car. Pretty sure I ended up getting sent 5 or 6. Even a Jeff Gordon early 2000’s flame with the rig and hauler. I miss those days

That's awesome that you were able to get all of that race gear from just a cereal box. That's very true also and it's a shame you don't find race gear anymore in cereal boxes.

In 1991, 1992 and 1993 he drove for Billy Hagan Racing. He drove for Precision Products Racing (Richard Jackson) in 1990.

the number 5 is just a decal, dont know why people have to bring up historic statistics of a number, its a totally different team in a different shop and different era

That would be a good point if teams didn't keep numbers

In 95 Terry came down on earnhardts nose! He had a huge run and labonte came down......

That's a good point there also. Still a great battle nonetheless.
