For light as a light main these are my changes: Tracking dart deserves a F tier, it just is way better to shoot the enemy then to tracking dart them, even when they are being tracked they can just run away and find cover and wait for it to run out. Pyro deserves to be C cause it stalls cashouts and u get 2 charges, I dont use it often to burn gas but it is good for burning goo which is hard to destroy as light Glitch is more like A tier cause its just not on the same level as the other utility in S tier, it acts kinda like the frag where it gives you an advantage if a team gets hit, but in 1v1s they are pretty useless which is what most fights as a light are. Sonar is D, people just run away and it rarely gives any value heat vision is E, its only use case is with smokes Goo is C, it can be used creatively and can help support locking down a site and providing cover for you

Heat is A if you know you are going against light invis, like on final round. Good to have in reserve but not in main kit.

Glitch is still S not A. You don't need glitch for 1v1s anyway because you have stun gun. It's an absolute must have when fighting healing beam, mesh shield, defib, etc. For a good light gadget ranking I'd recommend just watching Piggys video, he's the #1 light player after akk

You're telling me that Tracking Dart deserves F tier because the tracked enemy can just wait out the duration? It's something like a 12s duration and 12s cooldown per tag. For its duration, if the tagged enemy is leaving the fight, then that's a free 12s window to 3v2. If they push, that's an easy kill to force a 3v2 (or indirectly reveal the rest of them). Not to mention, you can tag two thirds of a defending/attacking team if you're not shooting for tag uptime. In my experience, tagging enemies converts so many kills that "just shooting them is better" is a weak argument. On that, Tracking Dart enables you to be effective outside your ideal striking range where the poke damage is nice, but the intel is better. Pyro also definitely only has one charge. Breach Charge or even Frag, both commonly found in kit, are useful for destroying Goo. Pyro's main advantage as a Goo counter is PREVENTING more goo.

Goo Nade need to be higher place because its multifunction tool u can have U can make a emergency cover U can make bridge or stair to reach higher platform U can block Door to make safe area ( even enemy can easily destroy it, but u can hear that enemy trying to go from that door) And its easy to use as long u know how Goo Nade work I will put it at least on C tier, but personally i rate it B Tier

I use the goo grenade, dome shield and shields with the heavy. To be able to control cover, setting up creative chokepoints and to counter the dematerializer. I hate how he placed the goo grenade so low. It literally stops him from accessing areas in the video itself! This game is a game of seconds, and be able to create obstacles for the enemies to overcome will help win games.

And for better or worse, it's flamable 🤌. For me, it's squarely on A. Especially if the build I'm using has no quick mobility or access to elevation, the goo grenade can fix that too 😎👍.

I use the goo grenade when playing light and I find it’s useful to quickly grab the vault, sprint to the cashout and put up some effective cover

pyro definitely needs to be higher up. not only does it terminate gas when defenders are trying to stall the cashout, but can also be used on moving platforms. it also destroys goos, and can spread to surrounding areas in case you were trying to force people out of a certain position. along with this, as the enemy runs away or pushes forward, the burning damage they take reveals their health bar which goes along with their location. this makes it easy to mow them down before they have the chance to find different cover

Season 1 I mained Medium like crazy. It was basically the only class I picked. Season 2 I main Light, and damn I've never gotten so many kills. My loadout is a Sword, Invisibility, Gateway Nades, Stun Gun and Gas Nades. Here's a strat: Put a Gateway on a Cashout and put another far-away, if being pushed, run into Gateway, throw a gas nade close to the other Gateway, and immediately go invis. 9 out of 10 times someone will follow you, and they are immediately stun gunned AND gassed, then you hit them with the charged Melee. I've never killed SOOO many Heavys with a Light. It's damn near Overpowered.🔥🔥

Demat below guardian turret seems crazy to me. It opens up so many creative pathways and plays, is great for both flanking and escaping fights, useful on offense and defense. Turret is only good on defense when you have time to set up, and is typically only a minor annoyance unless there are multiple in the same area. Also, the bug that makes heal beam randomly not work at all every few games should make it lose a tier.

Great video as always. My few cents as a player with a ton of experience + coming from CBT2: 1. Evasive dash is a must-have for Sword - being able to extend the lunge distance for the secondary attack is insanely powerful. Basically, when you hold and release a secondary attack (RMB on PC) you do the lunge attack that will damage an enemy when your sword collides with their hitbox. This lasts for a second or so. However, if you click evasive dash at the same time, then you’ll lunge way further, hence extending the attack distance. Moreover, you can use it to get out of tricky situations. Honestly, I don’t think running Cloak is better for Sword players - I’ve been using Cloak with Dagger in CBT2, but everything changed when I’ve learned about the lunge attack trick. Add a quick melee attack at the end of the lunge attack, and you’ll instantly kill Light players. 2. APC Turret is an S tier gadget, not A tier. The reason is simple - it has infinite uses and blocks like 90% of projectiles in this game. I don’t see a reason why you shouldn’t run it, since there are so many uses for it. If you have Dematerializer, then you can hide APC turret inside walls and other objects, which makes said objects indestructible for most people. It’s a lifesaver in many ways too. Also, you can use it as a way to climb higher which is… well, nice, lol. 3. I think Explosive Mine should be an A tier since it’s the great defense tool for Medium players. You can focus on certain points or players around the cashout, while defending the other one with mines. Though the damage output isn’t that insane with it to completely rely on this gadget. 4. Frag Grenades are an A tier. Period. It’s really hard to notice grenades in this game, especially when you are in a pinch, so you can devastate players easily. It counters people who want to steal the cashout too, so that’s cool. Anyway, I don’t see a reason why this is a B tier, not an A tier. Like counter-plays exist, just throw a grenade around a corner, 360, and nade + finish that ass. 5. I can agree that Frag Grenades are a B tier, but Gas Grenades are an amazing area denial utility. A tier? I bet. Though I might be biased, lol. With the recent change, that the health damage ramps up really fast while you are in a gas, Gas Grenade became even more powerful. Though it can be placed in B tier if you focus on kill-plays only, since, in that case, you won’t try to defend the cashout (which is very-very bad >:c), but strive for kills, hence chase players - no need for area denial in this case. 6. Goo Grenade is easily B-A tier, C tier, at least. E tier? I dunno, chief. Is it that bad in Ranked? I don’t think so. Goo Grenade has so many uses, like wow: movement, area denial, offensive and defensive strats. For example, you can use it to block entrances, use them with jump pads to move way faster, capture people for a second or two which will allow you to save some time, or even make people unable to move while they are in gas. And so much more. I don’t use it much, personally, but I know how powerful it is. 7. I’m not a fan of Zipline since you can destroy it really easy, which is bad when enemies want to break it while you are using it. Also, the cooldown is quite long. Moreover, it’s useful only for coming to a cashout faster, but that’s it - there are not many ways you can use it to defend the cashout, while jump pad can block doors, prevent players from accessing certain locations. Zipline is straight B tier (or even C if you don’t care about movement or chasing people that much). IMHO. 8. Goo Gun is an S tier because it has a lot, like A LOT, of uses. It’s really-really hard to master, but it’s a pain in the arse to play against if the player who uses it is able to do so efficiently. I’m not that good with it, but I’ve had a few plays when I was dominating with this thing. Since it creates goo, then it leads to many uses similar to Goo Greande - movement, defense, offense, and so on. Also, goo’s health is not small, so it takes time to destroy each chunk. Mesh Shield is great, it’s an S tier undeniably, but Goo Gun just offers another play style that is not worse than Mesh Shield if used in good hands. That’s it, hehe. I’m not playing in Ranked Diamond, so the reality there can be different. Take my words with a grain of salt. Other than that, everything I’ve listed above is based on my experience mostly. I’m not bad at the game by any means, but I think I’m decent enough to give some recommendations here or there. People have different play styles, and I prefer to play the objective aka defend the cashout, not run kill count games.

Bruh you cannot put the goo in e tier. I have almost 500hrs in this game and I keep coming back to the goo grenade. It’s just versatile and the productivity I get from it exceeds any other gadget. I’m not gonna name all of its uses, it here’s a couple unique ones: Throw it low against a wall to create instant cover that you can duck behind and shoot over. This allows you to create many power positions in areas that you’d normally not want to occupy or to just get a quick advantage in a fight if you can get it off.. I swear I’ve only seen one other person do this and I can’t believe it’s not widely used Use it to create platforms. Throw a few goo grenades against a wall or on a high ledge to get a good viewing angle of an area. There are some cashout locations where this is very advantageous on horizon

The gateway is what I've replaced my breach charges with. I don't know what to replace with them now. I run XP-54, gateway, stun gun and glitch nade. Both sun and glitch good to help kill heavy with dome or mesh shield

Gotta disagree with the C4 just because if the cash out is on another floor you can place it on the bottom of the cash out while some one is stealing it if you blow it up and it’ll drop to the next floor and stop anyone from stealing as well as it does more damage than the grenade and will insta kill a light unless the damage for it was nerfed in this most recent update

Data reshaper can be helpful on hanging platforms, there are at least 3 props on each, so if you didn’t have time for goo canisters or gas it could be useful. Still very situational.

I wouldn't say the AntiG Cube is a C tier. Atleast a B tier. It might look like a just a quirky tool at first but you can be quite creative with it.You can use it with a Dome Shield as a combo to steal a cashout. Also when using with a GooGun you can make a Cocoon protecting the cashout, making it difficult to steal. It is very rare but I have seen some players move the cashouts consistently into an advantageous position. Also Goo Grenade is quite underrated as a heavy. It is great to hold a position/cashout and it is very multifunctional. This thing has saved me several times. Overall Good Video :))

I'd put the goo gun in S-tier, it makes heavy so much more vertically powerful, because you can make really quick stairs up the sides of buildings, in addition to the other bonuses of using it. Honestly, pre-gateway, it gave heavy more vertical mobility than a non-grapple light, lmfao.

When talking about the explosive mine you said no one is throwing them and have them explode before primed but one of the best cl40 tactics at close range is throwing a mine and having it explode with a grenade for more damage. In that case wouldn't it be S tier if you are using cl40?

I played against a team on power shift all 5 were using flash bang. They would slowly push the point and once my team would take it they would spam the point with flash bangs. Effective strategy I think. It’s hard to counter as soloq but I agree it’s awful if you are the only person using it

This is why smoke is really good as a light main, fire can kill you easily and smoke puts fire out, you can protect cash outs from fire so your teammates can steal it or even win. Smoke is actually really, REALLY good when everything is on fire and in the finals it is that way sometimes. (It can also put you out of fire) EDIT I’m not comparing this to the glitch grenade but it is some what the same as putting out mines or C4 but just, fire.

10:28 the gas mine advantage is that you can hold 2 at once, meaning you can put one mine on the cashout, and have an extra one. You can just trigger the placed mine when enemies get close, making it basically a gas grenade

As a player with 300 hours only playing Light with Randoms. The best possible loadout is Stun, Gas and C4/Pyro. Gas is mandatory because The Random Bums cant really Base camp aggressively until you get Platinum and Diamond teammates. Which means you have to worry about getting kills and gatekeeping. Pyro doubles up on that time. Giving you 20 seconds of constant base gatekeeping. While Rotating and killing them. C4 allows for entry at any and every angle possible on the fly. Also great for solo pushing. Nothing In my opinion best that combo unless you get matched up with great teammates. Then you don't need pyro grenades. That's when you get get fancy with the Gateway or thermal. But if you try to run that fun loadout with Shyt teamates you will have a really bad time😂😂

pyro mine is actually not that bad! first of all, I bet you didn't know it deals 70ish impact dmg on explosion. Most ppl assume it just burns like pyro nade with no actual burst dmg :) add fire DoT on top of that and it's about 100+ dmg if the enemy just runs straight over it, if they stand in it the dmg ramps up quick. you can also combo it with barricade by blocking a door and putting the mine behind it, in order to force opponents into some pretty nasty pushes where they vault over the barricade and end up being on fire, down a 100 hp, and with a decision on hand whether they want to fight your team (while standing in the fire that is), or go through the slow vault animation back over the barricade (while still taking fire dmg during the whole process). just as with other mines you get 2 charges, and IMO it's the hardest mine to spot, especially with the white skin. yes, you got me, I run it all the time :)

Gateway is an awesome gadget but none of my team ever uses my portals so it’s far less useful. Honestly I wish they had made it a specialization and replaced the dash. Like idk if any of you guys have played that old game shadowrun but basically like that I wanna just dash teleport through walls would be the sickest thing ever (edit): grapple in D tier is criminal i average 2-3.0 KD with grapple and mp5. Especially for cash out and with vanishing bomb

Did you know that the "smoke" nade can put out fire? Cuz it's not smoke. It's powder. I realized that when I saw the "smoke" cilinder and I was wondering why it said "powder". Since then I always liked to have a fire nade and a smoke nade on me. Cuz then I can remove the poison gas with fire and then put it out with smoke. The smoke nade also prevents the gas from burning, since it will prevent the fire from starting, so you can also combine gas and smoke to avoid opponents from taking out your gas with fire. But don't quote me on that last one. Maybe they updated it to not prevent the fire from burning the gas. But I tried it before season 2 and it worked. Not sure about now edit: it still works. Smoke can effectively prevent gas from burning. Yes, I tried with the flamethrower

C4 definitely way too low, it’s still the only way for heavy to remotely breach and delay a steal without LOS, and almost guaranteed if its place right below the ATM instead. Most of the time it’s wasteful to use RPG to breach and u may not have LOS or have it at all. C4 no longer god tier but it’s still a solid B-

Asia region is full of hacks at the moment. I just played few games a day and matched with hacks twice. A heavy with full headshot lewis gun, a Light with high accuracy LH1. A suspicious Heavy with strange nickname (Q: ID), with high accuracy in shots but inactive all the times, I doubt he is selling tool hack and his ID is the Q ID of his shop. He just gets into the game, do some insane shots and inactive just for people to recognize his ID. My question is how the anti cheat works? As most of the hacks are on Platinum (sorry I am at Silver, so Pla is the highest rank that I met, not sure how is it in Diamond). And how I know my reports work? Most of players with Chinese name are suspicious.

Who agrees that stungun is useless after 2.6? when i decide to open with stun gun i than get beamed out beacuse that thing does nothing and it is not hard to aim without the slow + gateway is only good if you can use it properly.

Did this man really say glitch nades were underrated in s1? Dude every lobby if I ran into a light it was a stun gun, glitch nade, and breach charge combo - with the only changes really being that sometimes they changed breach charge for a different lethal. But without a shadow of a doubt glitch nade is prolly the most busted piece of equipment in the game

it's good on moving platforms like Powershift but other than that it's objectively worse than gas in 95% of scenarios The area of effect is tiny and a heavy can straight up tank the entire duration of a pyro nade without dying, which is pretty telling for what's supposed to be area denial type of effect
