A bit of context for some of the more "symbolic" parts in these stories. Bog feeds on negative emotions and after he infected Gildedguy, manifested in the worst ways off all his self doubts and uncertainty. That's why he couldn't put his gauntlets back on until story 6. He had trauma from the encounter with Bog and wasn't certain in himself to complete his journey, so those scars kept presenting themselves and reminders of a battle he did not win, just survived. Second, the Green Eyed Cowboy of Story 5 is symbolic of his ambitions to pursue his dreams (represented by the Green star). However the Green Eyed Cowboy was made while Gildedguy was infected with Bog and so his ambitions manifested as unhealthy, self destructive and even willing to harm those close to him to reach them. In story 6, Gildedguy's interactions with Oxob were showing shared camaraderie, as Oxob had also been beaten and injured time and time again. The end of Story 6 shows an acceptance of his scars, but instead of letting them control him, he fights through them, and realizes his scars only prove to make him stronger. Story 7 by and large just represents the fact of legacy. Andre, The Rock Hard Gladiator was a representation of a bygone era that had served to inspire Gildedguy to pursue his dreams (and leans into the real world context for the creator's own inspirations.) Andre wants to tear down the relics of his era due to all the death and harm it caused, but Gildedguy and Arzon fought to make sure the legacy of Andre lived on through them and their journeys. Jury is still out on Story 8 speculation as its so new, but the general tone of it is that the 'hole' in Gildedguy's gut that showed up during his fight with Mar represents unfulfilled desires that can never be filled through anything he does, and shows a nihilistic view that no matter what he does, he will always want more. Gildedguy fights past this mentality and does what is right, not because he seeks that fulfillment, but because he is a shining beacon of optimism. Meanwhile, Mar represents the other extreme, embracing the power of the dragon to always fill that void with more and more, despite nothing will fulfill him or make up for the terrible things hes done. Anyway, sorry for the long post. Great reaction bud! I love how expressive you are on this whole video.

The black swordsman, Mar, is the character of a moderator from Hyun's dojo that got banned from the community in 2020. I don't have all the details but it was a pretty gut-wrenching story. Story 8 is part of Guildedguy's journey, but it's also Mar's as well, and through him the story of his creator : Someone who's inner desires and greed got the better of, caused great harm that could never be repaired and got crushed by his own remorse and self-loathing afterwards. Mar's creator deleted his own channel, and all of his work as an animator, and completely disappeard from internet. You can still find some traces, like the demo showcasing Mar, that have been kept around by others, but apart from these small pieces he's thoroughly removed every trace of himself.

That’s not exactly the full story. It wasn’t just saying inappropriate things to children. Barthimo (Mar’s creator) wanted to fill the hole in his gut by finding a partner. In this pursuit he harassed a bunch of people, only some of which were minors. Whether he knew or not doesn’t matter. He let his greed for finding someone to fill the hole in his gut get the best of him and thought he was big enough that he could get away with it. His reputation was forever damaged, and instead of getting the help he needed and working to move forward, he chose to remove himself from the rest of the world and isolate himself from everyone. This story is somewhat reflected in Mar obviously removing the harassment of minors while still keeping the main points.

note for story 7: Andre, the Rock Hard Gladiator, is the OC of the guy that's credited for starting stickman fights in the first place: so the legacy he is destroying here is in great part his own; what he sees as a legacy of glorified bloodshed. Also a big theory about this episode... is that its not the man himself they are fighting, but his restless spirit, hence why there is no body left after what should be a fatal fall. also small correction for episode 8.... Mar is actually a guy, just happens to have long hair. Not surprising everyone gets it wrong tho when hair lengh (or lack of visible hair) tends to be the only visual indication of a stickman's gender :p

For the "no body" problem, it looked to me like what happened at 1:20:34, with the purple X in the ground, also happened to Andre. If you look very closely at 48:06 frame-by-frame, you can see faint purple fading from the X-shaped crack in the ground.

starting from story 5, men and women are diffriantiated further. women have have hair, eyelashes, waistline and legs that extend to be one with feet. the only exceptions are mar and a future opponent yupia

Heads up on story 8, Mar is a guy and that the reason no one was sad was because of the dragon manipulating the pink girl shown in the animation. Like when she opened up her eyes she realized what the dragon aka mar has done to her. Gildedguy has had the whole story planned since his first animation even the characters but Mar’s creator several years ago faced major controversies that lead to him being outcased permanently by the community. This was shown in the animation when Mar died he immediately was sucked into the depths of hell for the actions that his dragons (his controversies) has caused to others. Hope this clears things up since Mar the character is such a cool character and sucks that his creator ended up not being so cool.

@@yorudoesntexist To resume briefly a long and gut-wrenching story : Mar is the creation of an animator called "Barthimo", a moderator of the hyun's dojo community which he was an important part of. While he was a decent person, he suffered heavily from his loneliness, from the lack of a partner in his life and got more and more obsessed with trying to find one. His mood darkened, he started to make VERY intensive advances towards female members of the community (some of them being minors) and he became gradually more oppressive over time. In the end, he was banned from hyun's dojo, and he himself was so ashamed of what he had turned into that he vanished from the internet completely, removing his work as an animator (his videos) and every trace of himself along with it.

Andre is “the rock hard gladiator” and the founder of the RHG fighting community a pinnacle in stick figure animations. And as we see in his video and based on the legacy of death and desecration the RHG became andre despises his legacy and wished to crush it with his own two hands so no one else would die on the path he and his colleagues paved in their blood and desecrated bodies.

Everyone’s talking about Mar, but I don’t see enough people talkin about Andre, one of the “Rock Hard Gladiators.” For those who don’t know, GG’s Stories serves double: that of a growing warrior with a heart of gold, Gilded Guy, and the experiences of an animator, their struggles, and experiences, GildedGuy. By the time “vs Rock Hard Gladiator” was made, the main site hosting the majority of the RHG’s animations went down. Those who know of FluidAnims recognize the website’s logo in the eyes of Andre, a character belonging to one of the founders of RHG, Stone. I can’t recall Stone having any involvement in the site’s late status (afaik), but Andre just serves as an in-universe vehicle to represent the downing of FluidAnims. The entire animation is a celebration and remembrance of that site, that group, and probably what inspired GildedGuy, or Michael, to make this series at all, let alone animate. If you take the 5-point star as a metaphor for “inspiration,” then little wonder why you see Gilded Guy get stars in his eyes when he sees The Founder of RHG in the flesh And, such respect is an explanation why Andre is portrayed as a competent veteran (with various statues made of!), someone who comes with a variety of abilities he only shows off (or stops using) after he gets a feel for his opponents. _He’s so cool!_
