@@MMacAttack I have some grievances with the casting. The actresses playing Karen and Daisy should have been swapped. Suki has much more of the "It-Girl" appeal, while Riley has the "tough lady"-aura necessary for playing Karen. And what is Will Harrison doing playing Graham? Did they not read the book or what? Graham is supposed to look " a little rougher" and not like the nice "boy next door"…

I just realized something. I know in the final Look at Us Now performance Billy is emotional bc of Camila as well as Daisy coming to terms with the fact that it is in fact a love song about Camila, but also when he can't get the words out the entire crowd is singing his lines. Earlier in the season when Billy wasn't giving Daisy enough credit I think it's Karen who says "well she did right the lyrics that everyone sings" but now Billy's portion of the song is highlighted, really heartwarming :)

***Audio nerd stuff*** The Hawaii performances, the PA stack was authentic to the times. Ground stacked, horn loaded. Mics are too modern. SM58s weren't as common as they are now. Stevie Nicks often sang on a Sennheiser 414, the Eagles were/are big fans of Beyerdynamic mics. I also liked that they didn't include moving head fixtures in the lighting rig for the Hawaii gig. Stuck to par cans and Leko spots. I would imagine the console at FOH would have been some kind of Altec or a Showco Custom flown in from Texas. Sound City, I've commented on other videos related to this series. The only reason the gear isn't authentic to the times is because Dave Grohl has the Neve 8028 at Studio 606 along with the Studer tape machines. Since the documentary of the same name came out in 2011, Sound City has reopened with a Helios Type 69 console with a 3M M79 16 track 2 inch tape machine and a 3M M79 2 track half inch machine for mixdown (Pro Tools as well but kept out of shot for obvious reasons - first instance of Pro Tools being used at Sound City was during the Nevermind sessions with Nirvana). There is a Studer A800 which would have been more authentic to the times as that was paired with the Neve when it was there. The scene for "Let Me Down Easy" looked like it was a live off the floor bed tracking and the vocals in the room would have been guide vocals only. A lot of engineers did this to get the "feel" of the band together in a room while controlling the track bleed as much as possible some come mixdown time you don't end up with a big mess and to help with edits (which were done with a grease pencil for marking, razor blade to physically cut the tape, Scotch tape to splice it back and by "rocking the reels" to find your in/out splice points). The "Aurora Tour" staging was very authentic to the times. The production (sound and lighting) provider most likely would have been Showco. 1977, they were experimenting with flown PA systems for better coverage in large spaces. They had the "Prism" system which angled some speakers down so they would bounce off the floor and out to the lower bowl so the speakers higher up the array would have covered the nosebleeds. Genesis used this on the Trick of the Tail tour and is seen on the liner note photos for the live album Seconds Out. The PA stack/array was hidden behind banners which is still common to this day. Lighting, again, it was all par cans, lekos, a few fresnels, some with coloured gels. Any moving lights would have been done with follow spots as modern intelligent lights were still 4 years away from going out on the Abacab tour with Genesis (Vari*Light VL1s). I did notice they had some moving lights as the beams looked a little too sharp and the motion too precise to be follow spots but the lighting designer did a good job of disguising them as follow spots. Another goof is the mics. Always the mics. They look too new and modern. SM58s were more common in the early 80s as were SM57s. Beyerdynamics, Altecs, Sennheisers and older model Shure mics were more common on rock show stages. Stevie for most of the 70s and into the 80s sang on a Sennheiser 414. Linda Ronstadt used to sing onto an SM7 on stage as mic preamps were a lot more sensitive back then. The drum mics were authentic. Sennheiser 421s on the toms, Electrovoice RE20 on the kick, SM57s on snare top/bottom and depending on the engineer, drummer and drum tech, they would use dynamic mics as overheads as opposed to Phantom powered condensers. The DJ booths, they did a very good job of depicting what was used back then without making it look too modern. Rotary-dial mixers and early model Technics 1200s before the MK2 came out which became the gold standard for vinyl DJs in all genres. Big ups on the hi-fi systems - very authentic to the times although very top end stuff. Teddy Price's hi-fi of course was all top end McIntosh tube amps, single block, what looks like a Thorens turntable. Saw a lot of Marantz 2200 series, Pioneer and Kenwood receivers, Dual turntables (I still have my grandfather's 1219 - tracks like a champ and built like a brick shithouse leadlined for an extended nuclear winter), Revox and Akai reel to reels, Bose 900, JBL, PSB speakers. All in all, I'd give the production design a solid 8.5/10 - a few little goofs but still an authentic look and production design but in order to keep things rolling along, compromises were made. Still a genuine effort and an excellent end result.
