My Excursion V10 with 37 inch tites is getting better gas mileage with 4:88s than it did with 4:30s. That motor is a special case since it needs the higher rpms/shorter gears to avoid needing to lay into the throttle. Thanks for the explanation.

They all show better gas mileage with higher numerical gears until you recalibrate the speedometer.

I have a 2003 ford v10 5 in lift on 35s I bought it that way so now I’m looking to do this u think I should go wit 4:88 gears ?

My stock Ratio is 3.73 Dana 30 My stock Wheels are 29 I installed 33s I did the Maths and resulted 4.24 I found the 4.10 and 4.56 ring and pinion kit Witch one would be best fit for my set up ???
