Congrats on finding them! From past years I noticed these early bigger Shad always come up first around Late April-June and do their thing. Then the offspring will be what everyone will be fishing with in the fall! These Shad come up for about a week or 2, and then they will disappear till late summer. Unless the lake is in a different transition due to all the water filling up the lake. You definitely need to be in the right place at the right time with the early Shad run, but if your putting in time on the water you should find them. That's my take of it anyways over the last 20 years of fishing this lake. Keep up the Great Content Joe!

Light line is so much fun fighting fish. We should take you shad fishing on the boat here in Sacramento River. Now is the season. Imagine you got to shads on with 4 lbs test. The shad here in Sacramento River are big. Last year I got so many doubles. Anyway great catches, Joe.
