Heads are always a winner. Mullet heads are great for big drum.

Just a FYI in Florida you can no longer shark fish from shore with a j hook. Non offset, non stainless, circle hook. These new regulations that require you take an online Shark course, set new gear requirements etc were to please the few that don’t want us fishing on our beaches. (Hope this doesn’t happen where you are)

The online course is super easy and free. I finished it in 30 minutes, laying in bed in my boxers. Basically, it's just making sure you don't chum the beach, and you know the difference between different shark species. Like how a blacktip doesn't have "black tips" on every fin, but a spinner shark does, or how to report catching manta rays, and saw fish, and to only use circle hooks while shark fishing. Honestly, I'm glad Florida is doing this. It's free, doesn't take more than an hour for most people, and is very informative.

@@thatguy2535 yes it’s easy but you’re missing the point. This was to please a group that petitioned to ban shore based shark fishing. Next would be any beach fishing. If you are a hunter and or fishermen be aware.

I’ve used half a bluefish for massive red drum! Almost pulled my rod off the jetty😂

@@jacksonhamilton1878 I've caught big drum with mullet heads. I've had them rip down my sand spike.
