I thought the same thing. Only got about 3 or 4 hours of bombing casts randomly and still no fish landed. This is extremely helpful. I had some thoughts about this but this explains it and i actually understand this info. Its great. Thank you!

Great video. I am 60 years old. Fished my whole life and learned how to read the surf the hard way. By going surf fishing and not knowing what I was doing and had to figure it out by myself. I found you video very interesting. I like your style of teaching. A Lot of reading the beach video's I've seen do not come close to your approach and simplicity of the difficult task of surf reading. This is a must see for all new surf fishers who want to catch fish. I am from New Jersey and this applies for the east coast as well. Thank you for a great video.

This is one of the best tutorials I've seen on reading the surf. For someone who's fished the California surf and now New Jersey surf for the last 15 yrs, I can't emphasize how relevant this is regardless of the coast you fish. I fish a lot of jetties here on the east coast, but this is a nice refresher as I sometimes overlook these "sweet" spots going from one jetty to the other especially at night. I will definitely share with friends who are looking to take on this addictive passion. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for this. I fish on the East Coast, Mid-Atlantic. The beach I go to has heavy shore breaks at times. I try not to get there at high tide because it’s almost impossible to see any depth changes. I’m still getting the hang of reading the beach better and knowing when/where to cast. This helps me visualize more of what I’m looking for.

I've got a little more confidence now after several years of grinding and failing but sometimes it's just hard to tell, especially at a high tide. You've had some good days out there which means you're seeing the right things and based on the conversations we shared that day at the meetup, you're seeing everything I'm seeing. You're definitely no rookie!! Slay on!!

@BenjieKimFishing
@BenjieKimFishing 2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, man sounds like you're at the right locations brotha. From there, it's just a matter of dialing it in thru trial and error. I find that a lot of locations like this fish best at a low to negative tide as it will allow you to walk further out and cast the outer edges of that structure. When scouting, look for drop off points and holes (darker water) where the structure is. IMO there's a HIGH possibility that your locations are loaded....now it's just a matter of timing when the bite window is. All it takes is one session for you to get bit...log what the tide and conditions were like and hone in from there. Hope that helps.

Hi, what a great video, I’m hoping to learn how to fish properly some day, and I’m curious about what is the best color of polarized glasses to be able to see the fish underwater easier, I noticed you are using red/orange glasses, but I have heard you should match the color of the lens with the color of the water you are going to fish on. Let me know why are you using red glasses because if it helps in any way too I would get those cuz they look cool

I bought a house on the beach there and I see fish there all the time. Your description of what to look for is by far the best I’ve ever seen clear and concise. My guess is you’re going to catch a lot of flak from the fishing nazis. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard this before. Don’t show that photo or video people will come here and ruin it for me! Anyway good luck and before I leave I hope to meet you on the beach. DSB

Thanks for the comment David, glad you found it helpful. One of my primary goals as a content creator is to help others. I do my best to be mindful when it comes to locations and while I know there are plenty of dedicated fishermen who don't like fishing creators, perhaps the number one complaint I get is from folks who are upset that I don't reveal where. Hope you're able to get out there and enjoy our beautiful coast...For those of us that love the game, that sand therapy is what it's all about. Tight lines.
