This is spot on. I have a rock quarry pond by my house that holds lots of fish, and the only baits that I can get Fish on are… Stick baits in watermelon Drop shots in natural colors Small body crank baits in a ghost crawdad pattern. Small spinner baits in blue shad Jerk baits in pro blue ghost Spy baits in ghost minnow Great video Matt!

I have learned 3 things today ! 1= I’m using your dirty jig head for my small kaytech. 2=I thought jerbait didn’t work in hot weather 3= I will use a walking bait all day even if it’s sonny ! Right now i have success in clear water that is not that deep but with lots of courant . I generate a lots of bites with a 4’ or 5 ‘ Generals wacky rig , i let it follow the courant and wah- Bam 💥! Thank you for all the informations 👍👏💪🏻🎣

Great video Matt. I really appreciate all of your clear water tips, tricks, and techniques. Very rarely does can I find stained water where I live and fishing gin clear water really helps me up my game in that stained water. Its also pretty neat to see a lot of the fish, even if I'm not catching them. Its like fishing in a giant aquarium! I'm headed out to fun fish this morning, in gin clear water. Thanks again!

Great info Matt, perfect bait selection! It has been a fun learning game for me on a local quarry! My mod to a baby bass 5 inch senko is to color the thin end with a black sharpie and add a 3mm rattle. The rattle does give a little more pronounced shimmy. Sometimes I will rub the body of the senko to give it a muted blotchy color. I believe the bass will see this as injured prey. Fishing at night can be a great equalizer to the clear water!

I like throwing the Bill Lewis Stutter Step and walking it really fast and then just dead stick it, it will turn back around and face the opposite direction and usually a fish will be there to crush it. It's a awesome topwater bait!

I use nutrural colored weightless flukes or swimming caffeine shad when they have the bait fish corraled in a Clearwater cove. Late summer switch to a guppy head with easy shiner in same areas. Usually a sunfish type color like copperfield

Thanks Matt, this lake in my area I've mentioned before that is NOTHING like any lake for over 300 miles. It deep, VERY steep, and gin clear spring feed. It has lots of water shield near the bank, then it has hydrilla, going deep into soft bottom with lots of wood and old standing timber. This lake was made is a super hilly area of a national forest, and they left a bunch of trees standing. They have a ski area near the dam but the rest of the lake has so much wood at or just below the water line it is idle speed only. Most times you can't look down and see fish because it's dark. the way I tell the approx. water clarity is sticking something like a white top water bait as deep as I can. I can still see it clearly at 7 feet. i wish I could get you on my boat and have you show me how to fish this lake. Sometimes I catch them, and other times I can't find them. Thanks for another great video!. BTW, it's hard to graph the areas because of the timber Where I catch most fish is on brush piles at the edge of the hydrilla with a wacky worm with a weed guard on the hook. If you get a chance look up Lake Okhissa. It's about 1100 acres.

Nailed it again Matt. Clear water is a great ally for finding fish. Pelagic colored tube with 1/8 oz head retrived fast like a jerk bait, high rod tip allows the tube to break the surface of the water simulating a fleeing baitfish. Pelagic colored fluke with a weightless EWG screw lock hook, same retrieve as above. Both have the ability to spiral down when one decides to kill the action usually done when ya see chasers behind these baits. Enjoying your vids keep up the great work.
@@warefisher m.bassmaster.com/blog/kvd-its-all-about-baitfish The term Pelagic is usually tied to saltwater fisheries..... but it tranfers to freshwater fisheries as well.

Matt, thank you for making this latest video! After watching it I came up with an idea for you. What if you made you guppy head withe a flat bottom to it so it will have a wobble to it like the Berkley spybait. If a 2.8in wobbles on the fall and when reeling in slowly I think it will have have great action! Thanks again for all of your knowledge. Eric

Good info. I'd add a 5in Fluke style bait like a zoom super fluke. Excellent less snag top water option. My most productive clear option has been a 4in green pumpkin Swim Senko on a VMC finesse rugby jig head. You seem to like Berkley plastics. How do you get around how they 1)react with and melt other plastics and 2) dry out and get hard?
@MattStefanFishing3 жыл бұрын
I dont have an issue with them reacting with other plastics, but i just keep them zipped up in the bag they come in.
