Pasties de Belem is a very famous place. They are famous for their egg tart and its recipe is a world famous secret and its story is all over google. It was a recipe developed by Portuguese nuns. They had excess egg yolks in their pantry as the egg whites were being used as starch for ironing priestly robes. So they developed this egg tart to avoid wastage of egg yolks and ended up developing a very popular dish. After their convent got shut, they ended up giving this recipe to the family that runs the bakery you are at Dilu...Pasties de Belem. It has been passed over on to their later generations. To date this is the only family that knows the ingredients of the egg tart dish and how its made. Nobody else is allowed in that kitchen. its a world famous egg tart and people from all over the world come to have this egg tart. The world famous secret recipe.. :)
