That person that gave you that was incorrect. MGP makes a wheated bourbon with 45% wheat. I have had a bottle of Redemption wheated bourbon that is rumored to use MPG because the Redemption bourbon website advertises their wheated bourbon has 45% wheat.

MGP puts out a mashbill of 51 corn, 45 wheat, and 4 MB that is fantastic. Local Ohio brands such as Bad Tom Smith and SN Pike Magnolia

Love the show and love the spotlight on budget bourbons. Two quick points. If it doesn't have an age statement it MUST be at least 4 years old by law. So unless they are cheating, assume it is at least 4 years old. Secondly nearly all bourbon is sour mash, even if not explicitly stated on the label.

You could do a test of 4-5 different bourbons or ryes to mix with coffee. You'll have to do a cpl videos. One with cream/milk and/or sweetener, one in black coffee. People here can submit their favorite coffee "flavor enhancer" to get ideas for what 5 whiskies to use.

Yes breakfast! When I was in my early 20s i went camping with my best friend and her family at the beach (California). We started rhe day with Jack Daniels in Coffee. Parents had Bloody Marys. At night by the fire we had baileys..or more Jack. I have progressed and have had Baileys in coffee or Buffalo Trace cream. I think you could do coffee drinks with Mr Black’s coffee liquor. 😊. Pancakes and Woodford Double Oak.

DO IT! Went to a restaurant once for a late breakfast during their Saturday "brunch". Expected to see mimosas, etc on the menu. They had a Whiskey cocktail w/bacon and OJ. The Maple/Pepper bacon was soaking in the Whiskey shot and the OJ was supposed to be used a chaser. Had to try it! Ordered a second.

Their transparency is pretty good. But I'd love to get more info from distilleries about yeast strains and fermentation temperatures. Although, I'd bet most would downplay the impact of those factors while also refusing to disclose them, claiming they are proprietary.

Bardstown 6-year BiB is a solid release well worth $50. I have not tried the other two from this video but am very curious, as I have enjoyed high wheat bourbons and also wheat whisky, particularly from Old Elk (love both just wish they weren't so expensive). Breakfast or Brunch bourbon? Okay. I suppose if the proof-point is low (80-90). I avoid alcohol before noon, and then (vacation time!) only a sip or two of something 80-proof.
