This was my Batman as a kid. Batman vs Dracula is goated. I like that Bruce isn't a jerk or mean to his sidekicks unnecessarily, he's actually a really nice guy.

Bruce does that purposely so that they will leave and have a happy life like Nightwing even in Batman comic books it was Alfred who forced Bruce to let Robin join in his war and even let them wear Their bright outfits even though the first fight Batman had was on that telling them it's already safe and wearing that is even more dangerous for them but they just put out they want carry on thier parents legacy and Alfred supported that crap Batman didn't argue to hurt thier feelings on parents but still watches thier back when they come along increasing his load as he still tries them to willingly leave before something terrible happens like Jason it was all Alfred, joker and own thier fault that Robin or Jason died, Bruce did his best even Let his Persona Of Batman take over completely sometimes tos scare them away forcing them to leave!

Hot Take: This show had the best iteration of Batgirl. She’s written to actually have a good reason to become a hero. Her best friend becomes a villain, and needs to stop her. And the Batman inspires her to save her friend, and become a superhero. So it doesn’t come off as just “a fangirl who wants to be a hero just because they saw someone else do it,” but “Inspired to do more, and save my best friend.” Also Batman and Batgirl are better than Batman and Robin in this show. I understand they couldn’t use him since Teen Titans was running at the time, but the damage was already done. It’s like Robin shows up and Batgirl takes back seat, even tho she’s been there since the beginning. Peak Batgirl tho

@HBstudios2005 Yess!!! I rewatched this show as an as adult about 3ish years ago and the designs in this show really stood out to me. I loved their takes on most of the villains, but most especially the Batman. I know there's a tendency to make him a lot more stocky because of the Bruce Tim and Frank Miller Comics/Designs. But I loved how in this series he was a bit more lithe. And then if course they pay tribute to those stocky designs in their Future episode. But I think most of all I loved the way they use Batman's cape. The way it's so long and splays out along the floor so it looks like he's either melting into or emerging right out of the shadows always struck me as a wonderful choice!

One thing I really like about this show is how much he can get thrown off guard as Batman. He gets knocked down, so he can get back up, or his family can help him up. One of the worst Batman writing tropes is to treat him as an unstoppable demigod who knows everything. Special condemnation goes to the Hellbat armor for letting Bruce fight a God on equal footing, especially since said suit supposedly drains the wearer, so how is that even enough power to scratch the likes of Darkseid!? But this show? He can be overpowered, frozen, beaten, dosed, and tricked. Which lets him recover and overcome, highlighting his intellect and humanity. He's still mortal at the end of the night. And this plays up how much of a threat the villains can be. Also yes, I LOVED Batgirl and Robin basically being surrogate siblings. It's why any attempt at pairing up Dick and Barbara is hard pass for me. I just like them better as found family over romantic partners. Besides, Dick's got Starfire, or Zatana if we're talking about the Young Justice show. And not all characters need to get paired off. If Babs stays single, that's fine.

To me the Ideal version of Batman is the revamped character from DC's Bronze-Age that was introduced at the start of the 1970s as written by Denny O'Neil and drawn by Neal Adams. Bruce Timm and co. took just about all its inspiration from those comics when working on Batman: The Animated Series. I've even said that despite ONE laps in his No-Killing Rule in the climax of Batman Begins, Christian Bale's Dark Knight is the closest to that Bronze-Age Character...from a real-world perspective. All that said, being reminded of The Batman series, I have to reassess my stance; in terms of original storylines that never directly lifted elements from those 70s comics, THE Batman is closer to O'Neil/Adams Dark Knight Detective. Yes, this show IS Awesome. On a slight side note, I don't hate The Dark Knight Returns, but I despise what it has done to Batman's character since the late 1980s where EVERY single hack writer mis-interpreted Frank Miller's take of the character and applied ALL of those elements to the younger Main-Line version where we get the Mega-Brooding, Un-Trusting, Ultra-Cruel Bat-D*CK of the 90s thru the early half of the 2000s.

As someone who has consumed just about every animated and live action piece of media there is available to the public, I loved this show, the only complaint I've ever had about it is it's Joker design, I personally just don't like it, however because the design was so unique it's stuck in my mind more than a lot of other Joker designs that have been used through out the years. You mentioned the shows portrayal of Bruce Wayne, and I wholly agree, the show managed to make him seem warm, endearing and hopeful, whether that's because the role of Batman hasn't worn him down yet, but it was refreshing to see something different from the usual dark, and brooding routine, his interactions with Robin and Batgirl especially were a stand out to me, he actually seemed like a father figure rather than a mentor or teacher. You can see that Bruce truly believes in the work of his parent's and his work as Batman absolutely will and do matter, Idk if it was just because the show was for kids, but it was just something different from the 'fighting crime is a losing battle' trope I think it was a really interesting decision for Bat Girl to join the team before Robin, instead of getting a more passive Dick Grayson who is more open to listening and learning from Bruce/Batman, Barbra is confrontational, and provides a challenge he hasn't had to overcome yet, which is working with someone who isn't co-ordinated or as moulded in his image

Just got done watching the whole series now after watching it as a kid. It's an amazing show, and I LOVED Rino Romano's portrayal of Batman. All Batman fans should give this series a shot.

Idk if I’m either biased or not, but 2004’s Batman is my favorite version of Batman. I like that they gave Bruce somewhat of a personality. And Batman just has that swagger about him. And I especially like that he doesn’t have all the answers all the time. Probably the most tiring Batman interpretations now are the Know-It all Demi-god contingency plan for contingency plan Batman. Like this Batman learns from his mistakes, and uses them to become better. I don’t how to end a comment👍

I remember having all of the disks for this as a kid and feeling like it was never talked about despite being really good. Joker's unique design alone helping freshen it up.

Good video, I’ll have to watch the show now. I love Batman, he’s a great character, but I find the dichotomy between him and Bruce Wayne so much more interesting. Like how can you be dark and brooding and blissful and charismatic? How can you wonder how clowns break out of buildings when you have money to make the asylum more defensible? How can you try to protect the city if you don’t help its resources? I feel like sometimes Bruce Wayne can help out more than Batman, and Batman seems to forget that.

Man, I really missed out on this one back then. Your last video covering it about the zombie episode already had me wanting to check it out but this has me more than convinced. Seems there's a lot to love about this version of Batman.

I absolutely loved this show when I saw it! It’s basically one of my comfort shows along with some my favorite childhood shows. As much as I love Batman the Animated Series and Justice League Animated’s portrayal of Batman… this one was always delightful!

I found this series a couple of months ago and I absolutely loved it but one thing that made it harder to watch in the later seasons is that Detective Yin basically vanishes and the pacing of the camera/characters start to feel more dragged out :/ in the early seasons the fight scenes were quick and energetic with characters reacting fast to the changes in their surroundings as soon as they noticed it. But in the later seasons it starts to slowly become the classic “oh no! A thing is falling! I’m just going to stand there and gawk at it instead of moving out of the way!” But that’s just my opinion since I like more quick paced movements lol

I think it’s one of the best Batman series, at least it’s my favorite. It’s one of those shows where I just like everyone that’s on screen whenever they appear and you can just enjoy it.

This is my favorite Batman animated show super cool neon blue esthetic with my favorite joker. I’ve never seen joker actually be able to stand toe to toe with Batman in a physical fight. On top of that a top tier tv movie with Batman vs Dracula

9:49 i love how when he takes off the mask, he goes from shadow walking with the cape covering all of him, to a more normal walk where it lookes like hes walking upright, because hes not batman anymore, hes bruce wayne in a costume

This series has my favorite portrayal of the Joker. With his fighting style, just how manic he is and even his voice actor. I love Mark Hamill, but Kevin Michael Richardson Killed it with this one.
