I just started playing this game and went in 100% blind on the game pass. I learned a lot already but I'm having a hard time understanding what an effective build looks like and how to best utilize/synergize scrolls and everything. Thanks so much for the great video! Console player here. I have only beaten elite once though. Corrosion fire combo is best with high damage hits, because explosion damage is based on the damage of the effect applying hit. For a cat with low damage and high fire rate weapon, you can proc fire then grenade. Or, grenade then orb (with the ascension that grants orb element of current weapon). Miasma benefits high application rate over big hit because ot stacks. Also you can get gemini inscription to allow one weapon to also have a chance of proc'ing other weapon's elemental effect (the "share damage type" one). My elite win was with a sword bird. Got good defensive ascensions, mostly making leap restore more armor and have better cooldown. Did buy a bow just before boat because i've no idea how to safely melee it.

If you're new and struggling with elite or nightmare, you'll be well served by going into matches with 1 or 2 build ideas, and taking whichever one you get rolling first. There's a nice middle ground between planning a build, but making sure you're not trying to force something the RNG just isn't giving you.

I'm just trying to unlock the skilled tree talent perk things. I'm assuming once I get this entire thing unlocked the whole game is going to change a lot. The reason I prioritize shock in the first area is because you can negate a lot of the healing that the first boss tries to do with a shock weapon.

How much to put to what version of the gun I have. 2)What weapons and when to get them for end game? 3)Better scrolls for coins or put a gun to lvl 15+ and what’s the lvl where the gun probably gets him before he super rages? 4)Tips on engaging him 5)What to do if you run out of ammo or you realize you don’t have enough dps to just end him. I have no problem on cat or electric lei lo guy to get to him on elite. I’m using more of the synergies you explained now and probably will get him. But I don’t know where to put my coins as I have almost everything unlocked in the skill tree and I’m a hyper button smashed and a high skill casual. Thx for all the helpful stuff you certainly are helping me prioritize my economies to max effect. I still gave never had a 1 shortish build either. 😊

A amazing build i found but takes some skill was the shrieker and glimmering with the scroll that allows you to use your bubble and transfer any effect to the enemy with 100 percent and optionally the one that increases damage dealt by the next shot after you use the bubble then you hold the glimmering use bubble swap to shrieker fill charge shot on the head and i was doing like 30-40k dmg on the 2nd floor with a +3 shrieker and btw any scroll that increases elemental damage i did not have the prism somewhat works instead of glimmering i just dont think i got good inscriptions on it

brand new to the game and already going through your channel to learn as much as I can. A video I'd like to see is builds that work well in normal mode for beginners. All of the build videos on YT are for reincarnation mode only perks which we don't have access to.

Update did elite with 3 ppl yesterday killed final boss two of us I used crimson fire scale. Gonna keep grind elite not gonna do nightmare

Appreciate the content and help. Definitely take care lf yourself first no matter what the algorithm is like. What do you suggest for beating the game consistently in multiplayer? I thought I heard you say in a previous video elemental builds scale down with more players.

Unfortunately multiplayer is not my strong suit since I don't play a lot of it BUT I think having at least one person playing a much more defensive character such as the bird or turtle and then the rest playing kind of whoever they want is usually pretty good. The main thing for multiplayer is you want someone who can kind of just tank a lot of hits and spam revive if they have to

I'm new to the game. Started playing 2 days ago. The farthest I've gotten is to the third boss. I'm noticing that I get a lot of useful scrolls and ascension but I dont know how to adjust my gameplay to fully utilize them. For example, there are a lot of ascensions as Ao Bai that improve dual wielding but idk what weapons are best to use with it. I'd like to see some videos about the scrolls and ascensions, how to utilize them, and more generally how to construct your own builds. Thanks!

So I just beat the full game for the first time on my second run with the bird as a leap + argus build but when I beat yoruhime and activated the portal it wouldn't let me select the yes or no options. I was stuck in that screen, I could still use my abilities like leap and cleave but I couldn't interact with the menu. I decided to reload but I lost all my progression past the desert including new weapons like the bow laser gloves and fire lance plus soul essence and levels from the run. It was really offputting from playing the game more especially for it being my first run getting past the icthy worm i was super excited to have beat the game and those bosses in my first run past him. Is this a known glitch? And if so is there any way to avoid it because it killed my motivation for a game I was really enjoying so far.

Usually character skills and a good build are what can cause a boss to die almost instantly

So if you're causing an explosion with corrosion plus fire you don't want to shoot a weapon that has very low damage right?

It somewhat depends but yeah typically when you do corrosion plus fire you want a higher damage weapon

Weapons are really tough. The most important thing is usually the inscriptions so finding if you find a weapon with really good inscriptions later in the run it is usually swapping your current weapon for it

I struggled with the cat. What helped me a lot is having a good sniper rifle or long range weapon. Few times I got the orange inscription that makes max mag size of 2 but has 200 percent lucky shot. I have not beat the final act three boss yet. When I unlocked the bird and the hero upgrade 300% leap damage I was stomping one shot nearly all enemies. Be sure to watch how to kill bosses and move fast away from boss attacks.

The only problem with this (as of now), corrosion breaks the golem boss on xbox lol. It locks your character controls and makes it unwinnable

I’m so sad cause this video came out the day after I was grinding and beat the game with the dog 😅 But then again I got really good and realized what weapons were good and now I can beat normal difficulty with the bird (Who I think is S tier with his leap build)

This is theory, as i have only beat elite. But turtle or bird seem plausible here. They have pretty crazy defensive potential through ascensions that let them reliably recover shield/armor even while in the enemy's face. My elite win was a melee bird (bought a bow from peddler to kill the ship).

Bird is for sure viable but the bird also has a higher skill ceiling so it might take a few runs to get used to using him in an optimal way. I would recommend the bunny honestly. She's a little squishy but she has insane damage potential and all you have to do is try to find a shotgun with a lot of projectiles or a fast firing weapon which there are a lot of.

I can't beat the second phase of the ghost ship. It seems like you die instantly and you're always slowed

Keep an eye on the ground for red attack markers as that indicates where it’s bomb attacks will drop; make sure you also check which direction the face-cannon is looking at when it fires as that’s where its big artillery shot will land. As for the slow, those are being caused by the jellyfish that the boss summons. Kill them when you can, but if you don’t have the damage or opportunity stay in the area behind the cannons as they generally don’t spawn there

unfortunately a lot of this guide is advising taking stuff that isn't in the Xbox version - I don't think Ostrich Rider is the Xbox version, nor some of the other scrolls you mention... I am really enjoying Gunfire but it feels like such a rough port and I'm a bit disheartened to have not heard anything about a forthcoming patch... there are some real game-breaking issues that need addressing!
