THE Best Bird Feeders for Keeping Squirrels Out

I was gifted a More Birds Squirrel-X Double Suet Feeder and this feeder has been phenomenal at keeping squirrels away! My birds love it! Large woodpeckers can still enjoy by hanging off the bottom and feasting! Looking forward to trying Squirrel Busters in the future!

My squirrels have learned to jump on the squirrel buster and yes it closes down the feeding ports but they shake it and swing on it until enough seed spills out onto the ground and then they go down there to eat. And they'll do that over & over again until they've emptied the feeder. The upside is that there is about a 10 minute gap between shaking sessions so the birds can return while the squirrels are down below. My solution is to only put about half a cup of seed in the feeder each day. That way the birds get some and the squirrels can't make pigs of themselves.

I have the Brome Squirrel Buster Classic and love it. They are pricey but worth it in my opinion. Not to mention, I believe Brome provides a lifetime warranty on their products as well. From what I understand, they deliver on their warranty. I think my feeder is around twenty years old, and still going strong. There is apparently a pole mounted seed catcher available for these as well.

I agree, the money you save in bird seed that would be lost to squirrels pays for the feeder over time.

I have to give it up to the squirrel buster feeders, I have three regular ones, a peanut buster and suet buster. Nothing gets into them other than birds. I've had the regular and suet busters stolen by bears, dragged out into the woods and was always able to put them back together and start feeding again. I did have a bear tear off the hanger on one but emailed brome and they mailed me one free of charge. Have been a true squirrel buster fanatic.

Being a birder and a Canadian…. I had to have a squirrel buster and so my kids got me one for Christmas a few years ago and it’s been the best feeder ever. Now I need to figure out why the house sparrows are into my other feeder eating the safflower that they never seemed to bother with until recently. They are chasing off my cardinals and I don’t like that

@@karenharnish8090 They are truly opportunistic birds. I use Mille on the ground to lure the house sparrows away from the “good” seed and feeders.

Have ALL your Squirrel Buster feeders. If two are too close, the squirrel will hang on to one, he can get to the other😱 Now I use only Squirrel Away Zero Waste and have NO squirrels👏‼️👏
