Love that you not only said which song you were using, but why you chose it. I listen to a lot of different noise while I'm working, (podcasts, jazz, metal, blues, audiobooks, latin, swing...) but the fact that you acknowledged that Walk should be recognized for the bass that's played has made me comfortable about choosing whichever buds you decide are best. Respect.

Fav bit was the weird but "sincere" eyeball movements as you listened intently and compared. Then you introduced Duggee, and he's just cute.

The best way to insert foam protection it to reach over the top of your head with the other arm and pull the top of your ear up and back a little. That opens up the ear canal. I imagine it'd be the same optimal technique for putting these in. See here for an example from 3M: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYSZlaeemLiJf68

Good work man, and thanks for helping out with my Jimmy interview. Interesting how there was any variability in sound isolation with them all using the same tips. I guess there was sound coming in through the housing? I will have to check out those Jaybird X3s. looks like the Jaybird x3 and x4 have had bad reviews about the battery life either dying completely (wont charge) or dramatically reduced after a couple months of use. would love to see an update or revisit to this topic, maybe two, one comparing newer models of blue tooth and one with "true wireless aka airpod style", looks like soundpeat has some true wireless models

I have set of the ISOTune wired and I use them in the shop and while gaming. One nice feature you didn't mention is the mic has built in noise filtering as well so I can take a call while the DC is running and the person on the other end doesn't hear it nearly as much, also works well for the noisy fan on the back of my Wife's gaming rig.

Thanks for the report mate, very helpful. One added comment, I bought some of the isotunes brand recently and they died after about a month. I contacted the company and they were amazingly helpful. They sent out a replacement pair at no expense to me and didn’t require me to send back the broken ones. Why do I think that this is exemplary, I live in Australia. Not having to pay return shipping and/or shipping on the replacements saved me a lot especially when our dollar only gets 75c of yours. And they support Stumpy Nubs too, another good idea. Btw mate, just heard that you are coming down here down under later in the year for our new woodworking show. Excellent mate, really look forward to saying g’day if possible, I’ll be the one in the Guild shirt lol. Seriously tho, great news and hope that they sprung to bring Nicole and the kids too and that you get to stay for a little and enjoy what our country is all about, good decent people and great country side, hang in there mate, see ya 😎 PPS, cool new dog 👌

I have the ISO Tunes and like them ok. You are spot on for sound quality, but one thing you missed with them was the sound canceling aspect. You can be sanding and get a phone call and these things cut out all consistent background noise. You can continue to sand and talk on the phone without the caller hearing the noise. Pretty cool.

Wow, not the results I expected. I’m glad you took the time to make this video. I am an Isotunes Pro 2.0 user for 3 years now and have been disappointed in their build longevity. When the control pod comes apart they are a throw away item.

@orcasea597 жыл бұрын
I am a location sound engineer for video as well as an amateur woodworker, and while I love my blue tooth speaker for use in the shop/garage the environment is hardly an acoustic wonderland, so I have long considered ear buds for the shop. While I recognize sound is in the ear of the listener, I still think the sound quality estimation was the best part of the video. I would still recommend over-ear hearing protection when working with loud tools. Masking loud noises doesn't make them less harmful.

The puppy is always the best part. I bought a cheap pair off newegg for $8 and replaced the tips with regular ear plugs. I appreciate this post because no matter what I’m doing in the shop...I’m listening to my earbuds! I use (and love!) the sol republic “shadow”. I think the sound is great, the noise isolation is about the green max-lites I used to use (30 dB I think) and the battery is a good 8 hours. They also provide earbuds for life. I can comment on longevity as I’ve had them for a couple years...they last well. But I was glad to see your shootout because as much as I love mine, other opinions are great. Mine won’t last forever 😀
