i don't build my inlays like that bit by bit i put the whole image together on rice paper then just plop it in,rice paper up,outside i think its easier then one bit at a time(no including scribbling lol),sorts all your glue lines in one go no need to fiddle about balancing it later,,xxxx ooohh FESTOOL nice not cheap quality you get what you pay for if im thinking of new PTs i would need to use it a lot to invest in FS,S, i like the floating tracks dont need to clamp them down and the power extraction nice to

for one offs i never use routers by the time you've jigged up worked out the math could of roughed it out with a fosner bit and chisel making 4 10 then saves loads of time,i cant do half the stuff i used to ill health still plenty of stuff ive built around the house and friends relatives,to keep my eye in,i still have a good stock of old woods veneers hand-cut, that's the good thing about Europe we have thousands of years of history, where in the states its 450ish so not so easy to break out broken stuff down for repairs, like inlays, splicing into carvings, matching grains ect

I bought the same exact plane last week. It's a good plane if you prepare it carefully and patiently. Mine's sole was crap. So I spent around 3 hours on 120 grit sandpaper to flatten the sole and another 15 mins to prepare the blade (the blade on mine was not that bad in a shape out of the box). It works like a charm now. Thanks for the video.

Harbor Freight has a no questions asked return policy within 90 days and their lifetime warranty covers anything just hold onto your receipt. I typically laminate my receipts with packaging tape this way the letters don’t fade. These parallel clamps have worked wonders for cutting boards and things like that, I only have the 24 inch models.

This is very useful. It's no wonder that these dyes haven't taken off versus staying the amount of information that's out there on getting the colors you want is almost non-existent. I just ordered the keda powder kit, assuming that there would be instructions and found out there is no instructions even on their website. Honestly a little annoyed. It looks like those pre-made wood tone colors are the way to go rather than mixing from scratch RGB with no supporting data

The lock down on the stop is nice until you put on a sacrificial board. You'll need a slot the length of the board and a longer tool to reach the dovetail slider. (and BTW, the slot needed to move your stop around is where the sac board attached to the rail so...

Such a beautiful home. I wish the boys that enjoy this gem would learn to properly dust the wood. That is what the Greens architecture is all about. Thank you for this video. I am obsessed with the Gamble House and its nice to know this one is in the Bay Area. Again, thank you

OMG Marc, we have an almost identical cat! Ours is Socks. Our timber farm was adopted by a litter of feral kittens. We have domesticated them. The only one that feel comfortable making the trek up to my shop (semi converted barn, WIP) is Socks. But if I use any power equipment, he bolts. Almost 30% of my shop time, if not more, is used for furniture repair & restoration. I like the challenge but wouldn't want to do it professionally

I like my Bessey. The Irwin pipe clamps are 👎🏽. My older craftsman one handed clamps are great in the larger sizes but not so much for the tiny ones. A have dome kobalt that push and pull with just a flip of a lever, they are very handy, I should have bought more of them.

Check the shop lighting. I have a Benjamin Moore store around the corner and EVERY thing in there is too green. I take samples and color chips outside to use daylight to match. This applies to the box stores too. Non-full spectrum bulbs, fluorescent, etc...

Hey Marc, thank you for this video. I’m curious if you still have all of those samples and especially curious if they still look the same. I’m a little freaked out by the thought of UV light messing up the color of my expensive wood and hard work.

What are the widths of the breadboard ends and the tenons that go into the breadboards? Why did you choose to use long continuous tenons rather than 5 shorter tenons with a continuous haunched tenon?

This would have been more valid with assorted wood types. Wood is distinctly different in regards to grain, density, etc. These all affect how the finishes are absorbed and retained.

I just put a block kit on my Grizzly G0555 LX I have had for a while. The blade is 3/4” wide and the way the adjustment works is similar. Maybe I am stupid or very gutsy, I very carefully adjusted the all the guides while the saw was on, except for the centering the blade on the wheel. I had not seen this video before. Saw works great.

I have 6 of those chairs. They are old restaurant chairs from the ~1950's. They're super sturdy and normally take a beating. The casters on mine broke years ago and were never replaced which is why they probably lasted so long

I disagree from the very beginning. I’ve tried his method with the teeth at the center. The way he does it, the tension IS on the teeth. It works well enough with a narrow blade, because with that, it doesn’t really matter. But with a wider blade, it doesn’t work. You will get drift. The blade is no longer running parallel to itself. That is the rear of the blade on both sides of the wheel will run at a slight angle, meaning the rear edges will be closer to each other than the front will be. It’s a tiny amount, but it’s there and it’s stretching the front of the blade more than the rear of the blade. Anyway, the rest of what he does is what everyone else does. Though he isn’t as concerned that much about getting the slot in alignment with the blade, which really has to be done before worrying about the fence
