I just want to say thanks for the book recommendations, between you, Mike, Phillip,& The Gwynne bros, I enjoy a vast majority of the books that you guys like. I’m reading The Poppy War at the moment ( I’ve had it for years and I’m just getting to it ) and The Dragonbone Chair and The Grace of Kings are on deck. Hey, it's not a ton of books in 3 months but you did definitely read some bangers. Joe Abercrombie, Tad Williams, Ken Follet . . . those aren't authors you take lightly. World without End is well worth the read, as is the latest Kingsbridge novel: The armour of Light. The other two Kingsbridge novels- In the morning and the evening (series prequel) and A column of Fire are less good. A column of fire is still very good, just not as good. I find the prequel the weakest out of all of them- it can be rapey at times

World Without End is the only other Kingsbridge novel I have read so far and while I still think that it was a really good book it unfortunately wasn't even close to Pillars for me. Ken Follett clearly applied the same "formula" again and while it worked well, it was very similar to Pillars and simply not as good IMO. However, I know that there are definitely readers that consider WWE at least on par with POTE, so I'm looking forward to what you will have to say once you get around to reading WWE. I also think that it would have been better to wait longer (at least several months) after finishing POTE before jumping into WWE. I'm reading Jade War right now and I agree with your opinion: While I already adored Jade City, Jade War is even better and feels grander than the previous installment.
