So, so excited to read The Devils. Joe Abercrombie is my favourite fantasy author of all time and everything I've ever read from him has been a solid 10/10. Thank you for bringing up The Narrow Road Between Desires though. I've read most of the novels and novellas by Patrick Rothuss, but hadn't actually heard of that one until now, so that's going straight to the top of my reading list. 😊

Hey, it's not a ton of books in 3 months but you did definitely read some bangers. Joe Abercrombie, Tad Williams, Ken Follet . . . those aren't authors you take lightly. The Booktube obsession with quantity's overrated, and I say this as someone who reads like 15 books a month mainly because I don't really have the ability to do much with my free time.

Hey, that only shows that you are human Petrik, but yeah, quality trumps quantity every time! 😄 My own Q3 Top 5 Favorites; 1) «The Green Angel Tower» (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #3) by Tad Williams (Epic Fantasy, a key influence for George R. R. Martin's « A Song of Ice and Fire») 2) Split: «Lustrum» by Robert Harris (Historical Fiction, book #2 in the Cicero Trilogy about the Eponymous Roman Statesman) & «The Lantern Bearers» by Rosemary Sutcliff (Historical Fiction Novella set during the Roman withdrawal from Britain and the Anglo Saxon invasions) 3) «The Warrior Prophet» (The Prince of Nothing #2) by R. Scott Bakker (Grimdark/Dark Epic Fantasy inspired by the Crusades, Silmarillion & Dune) 4) Splitt: «Sword in the Storm» (Rigante #1) by David Gemmell (Heroic Fantasy/S&S inspired by Celtic Britain and the Roman Invasions of Julius Ceasar) & «The Thousandfold Thought» (The Prince of Nothing #3) by R. Scott Bakker (Grimdark/Dark Epic Fantasy inspired by the Crusades, Silmarillion & Dune) 5) «Tiamat's Wrath» (The Expanse, #8) by James S.A. Corey (Space opera)

World without End is well worth the read, as is the latest Kingsbridge novel: The armour of Light. The other two Kingsbridge novels- In the morning and the evening (series prequel) and A column of Fire are less good. A column of fire is still very good, just not as good. I find the prequel the weakest out of all of them- it can be rapey at times

World Without End is the only other Kingsbridge novel I have read so far and while I still think that it was a really good book it unfortunately wasn't even close to Pillars for me. Ken Follett clearly applied the same "formula" again and while it worked well, it was very similar to Pillars and simply not as good IMO. However, I know that there are definitely readers that consider WWE at least on par with POTE, so I'm looking forward to what you will have to say once you get around to reading WWE. I also think that it would have been better to wait longer (at least several months) after finishing POTE before jumping into WWE. I'm reading Jade War right now and I agree with your opinion: While I already adored Jade City, Jade War is even better and feels grander than the previous installment.
