-Bourbon: a type of whiskey that can only be made in specific places of USA with a specific recipe. -Americans: BeSt BoUrBon In ThE WoRld... Dude... It cant be made anywhere else than in the USA... Of course is the best in the "world"
@jaycareaga9929 Жыл бұрын
Legally, bourbon has to be made in America. This comes from the 1964 Senate Concurrent Resolution 19, which formally declared that bourbon was “a distinctive product of the United States. It must be a 51% corn mash. It must be aged in new Barrels. It must be aged at least two years. THESE ARE THE LAWS.

Best bourbon in the world??? Ha ha. It's not the best bourbon in Kentucky. Overhyped, overrated, overpriced nonsense.
@TravelClast Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah? what's your tops?
@abnrgrtr Жыл бұрын
@@TravelClast Well, obviously, anything involving taste is subjective, so to suggest anything is the "best in the world" is foolhardy. But I've had numerous BT products and none of those were worthy of the hype surrounding them or the inflated prices at which you almost always see them. For every product in their line below Stagg Jr, there are MANY offerings from other distillers that are easily as good or better and are not inflated and overhyped. I can't speak to the VW line or BTAC products as I've not had any of them. But just look at the basic Buffalo Trace. 15 years ago it was considered a bottom shelf mixer and readily available for about $15 anywhere. But then PVW was in Deadwood, and Blanton's with it's fancy bottle was in John Wick, and BOOM...an artificial hype-train left the station. A store within walking distance of me has basic BT for 45 DOLLARS for a 750. Utterly absurd. Now, I typically enjoy my bourbon at a minimum of 100 proof. So the EHT Small Batch Bottled in Bond would be the only BT product I have bought in that range. Was it good? Sure, wasn't bad. But not worth the inflated price I paid. I tasted it next to Wild Turkey 101 and there was no significant taste difference. As for my tops? I can only speak to what I've had/bought. Booker's, Elijah Craig Barrel Proofs, and Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof are all on the list. Stagg Jr (or just Stagg now I guess) might be up there as the one time I had it for a reasonable price for a pour in a bar I thought it was great. But I've also never seen it for less than $150 for a bottle and that's about three times retail and just silly. Look, I" don't begrudge BT for the success they've enjoyed. Hell, I've come to love those who succumb to the hype. They spend all their time and money hunting those products, leaving a ton of GREAT and correctly priced bourbon there on the shelf for the rest of us. But again, best in the world? Nah.
