Yep that's the Karma mount ring. No modifications needed its almost the perfect diameter.

Thank you for this review. Would this correct horizontal balance when installed on top of a fluid video head on a tripod (that is a pain to set up in the sand at the beach and keep level in the wind) with a Yi 4K+, or is that overkill? Also does your finger's pressure on the joystick button control the speed of the pan and tilt?

Thanks. Im looking at a FeiyuTech WG and a Hohem XG1. Same price range as this one. They both look very good but the Feiyu has the remote which would be very handy for hands free planning while driving and spotting storms, which is the sole purpose of all of this. I appreciate your help. 👍🏼

What about the audio quality? I know with the karma grip the footage is great but the audio is garbage. What is is like with the G5?

I guess I didn’t test out the audio quality but the gimbal doesn’t cover the microphones so I think it would be fine.

I’m thinking about buying the feyiu tech g5 gimbal and noticed in your review you have a go pro style mounting bracket to mount the grip to a chest mount. The chest setup I have is two parts. One is an amazon basics gopro chest mount. And the other is the GoPro Karma mounting ring. You need the mounting ring to attach to a gopro style mount. But it works really well when you get it all setup!

lanie mon the Feiyu G5 GS comes with the mount Sony FDR X3000 ready. While the camera does already have BOSS, if you want the extra buttery smooth footage, that’s the way to go. There aren’t very much gimbals that would fit without doing modifications to the gimbal itself.

Hi ItsEthanJR, I like the reviews of the Yi Gimbal and how it works and I was about to buy one tonight, but read some discouraging product reviews on Amazon when taking a last look before buying. How long have you had the Yi Gimbal? Still happy with it? I am thinking spending a little more for this one to give me a better quality product and so far it does look and sound better.
