So nothing about this is a budget PC as the parts totaled around $970 -1000 USD and the build is overall poor quality in terms of value. Don't follow this build guide. • The PC only has a stock CPU cooler and one exhaust fan. There is poor airflow and cooling. • The PSU chosen is of poor quality and the last place you want to sacrifice budget on. Don't get that PSU. • The case is awful. I think you recognize this already though. • The RX 7600 is a good GPU, but for the budget you had you could have gotten a much better GPU. For $1000 you could have built the following with all new parts that is a much better build overall. Actually you know what? Here's a list for $980 • Better GPU, 32Gb RAM, B-Tier PSU, MUCH better cooling, better cable management potential CPU: $148 AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor CPU Cooler: $19 Thermalright Assassin X Refined SE ARGB 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard: $97 MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory: $54 TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Storage: $52 Crucial P3 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive GPU: $450 Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 7700 XT 12 GB Video Card Note: The 7700XT is on par with the RTX 3070Ti and RX 6800. Honestly, I'd rather have a upgradeable Am5 motherboard and a much better CPU, than a 7700 XT - it's already CPU bottlenecked in warzone, and the 7600 is way better than the 5600x
@ProfShikari Жыл бұрын
@@PcCentriccame here to say this, why build on an older platform if you can just upgrade the newer platform over time?
@ShadyButFresh Жыл бұрын
@@PcCentric I think anyone on AM4 would prefer to have an upgradable AM5 mobo, but this is a budget build where you're aiming for price to performance. For price to performance, the 5600X takes the cake until you hit that $1500 USD budget range when you can start considering AM5 CPUs imo. Yes the 7600 is better then the 5600X, but there's no bottleneck with the 5600X until you start using GPUs like the 4080, 7900xtx, and 4090. I think it's also worth noting the 5800X3D exits...which is an incredible CPU on the AM4 platform and holds it's own as a top performer even among the newer AM5 cpus

I've based my first build on this video, so I just wanted to say thank you for all your videos, I've binge watched them for the past few months now, and learnt so much. I've ordered now and did make a few changes - I've swapped out the motherboard for a MSI B650 Gaming Plus (£149), managed to get Crucial P5 Plus 1tb for £50 on Amazon (Black Friday), chose a higher wattage Corsair RM750e for £80 (for the fully modular option/future improvements) and chose a Corsair 4000D Airflow. All safely within budget. I'm looking forward to saving in the future to upgrade the cooler, add some more fans and maybe in a year get better CPU and GPU. Thanks again Marcus!
@FlawlessRemix11 ай бұрын

@DrTenma17Ай бұрын
hows the performance at heavy games?
@Harrygost Жыл бұрын
As you mention the CPU temp is def a problem. In some of the games it was running in the mid 90's!! I guess a better CPU fan would help but I think the case airflow (or lack of) is the main problem. Because as you said the stock CPU fan should cope. Edit: I also notices these CPU temps of 90deg were at fairly modest CPU utilisation (50% or below) . So unless the fan/CPU are incorrectly fitted, the CPU fan and case cooling are a real problem with this build.
@Chris.Brisson Жыл бұрын
One wonders if a different case (one with proper front-to-back airflow) and an upgraded CPU cooler would then see the "CPU bottleneck" problem vanish. Also, some SSDs begin to throttle at temperatures much lower than 90C (some throttle severely at 90C).

This is pretty much how I would spec a $900 PC today(spec'd these prices at microcenter). Of course with 32GB of DDR5 6000. 1440p at medium settings is plenty good for most people. Those of you saying spend more on a better GPU and less on the platform should take into account that AM4 boards have been around close to a decade. DDR5 has 50% more bandwidth than DDR4. In the long term, an updated platform will last you longer and be less of a bottleneck. You can always upgrade your video card easily when you have a system worth upgrading.

The amount you save on RAM where I live is kinda limited, It's only about 30 euros going from 100> to 70 if you get 16 and not 32 GB of DDR5. 1TB NVME SSD storage is 50 while 2TB is 90 euros, this also feels kinda not worth compromising on. What I do love is saving money on the mobo, without wifi I can get a mobo I'm happy with for 90 while it would cost 150 minimum for any mobo with wifi. I can almost afford the 2TB NVME SSD and 32GB of RAM by simply ditching wifi, and it's not like you can't add that in later if you so wish. If you live in Europe it's also silly to get a PSU with anything lower than an 80+ gold efficiency rating, you'll earn back the extra cost within a year due to the high electricity costs here in Europe.

I want the system to be futureproof and running ddr5 but living in The Netherlands, the prices seems to be a bit higher here (10/25%) thats why im wondering what to do in this situation. Build a complete pc for that 900,- or just keep the 2060s and upgrade that a later date to a Arc770/rx6700xt/rx7800xt for example? Currently playing a couple of games where the gpu is my bottleneck atm, but wonder if the prices come down within 6months to get one of those gpu's for a decent price. Or am i just crazy to think this way and both solutions cancel each other out in the long run? (ow yeah, saving the 900 untill next year not gonna happen btw :P)

Ok so I watched you how to for a beginner. I will be honest I have no idea about any of this but I am good at learning and understanding things. You made me wanna build my own and ya. Ok so can you lol go slower though. Or are there actual steps. I’m gonna just copy what you’re doing. My mind has so many questions though like, ok so are certain things compatible with each other? Or dose anything you chose just work? Also could you upgrade later so it dose 4k and ect ect. I think you should make an actual how to video for beginners and ya if not building then like bule prints. I’m better at reading instructions

About 250€ thrown away on mobo cpu ram combo here for which you could almost get rx 7800 xt, with 16 gigs of ram instead of rx 7600 with 8 gigs. I do like the case!

@@daunted232 ok. 100 on cpu as in ryzen 7600 costing 220 opposed to 5600 which is 120. 100 on motherboard. 90 to 100€ buys a b550 motherboard. And 50 on ram, since one can get a 16gig kit for under 50€. Ryzen 7600 is not much better than 5600.

I am currently thinking about upgrading my PC. It is quite old so I'm not able to upgrade one part, I have to at least upgrade the CPU, Motherboard and RAM. I've not got a lot of money right now due to being a student but I want to have a working 'upgrade' as soon as possible. My solution is to buy a new CPU, RAM and Motherboard and just use my old Graphics Card and HDD/SDD's until I can afford new ones. I'm on the fence between Intel and AMD CPU's, I play a lot of games but I also do some editing. I was thinking about getting the Ryzen 9 7900x but some people keep telling me to get a 14th gen I7 or maybe an I9. Does anyone know what CPU/Motherboard combination would be better for gaming but also editing?

@@germioterothank you! in terms of upgradability do you see your cpu lasting a couple more years in terms of strength? since it all forces you into AM4 and gddr4 which isn’t worth upgrading from unless you go for the much better am5 cpus

Hi, is it worth it to get a AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D? It seems really good, but I'm unsure if RX 7600 is better? There is so many different builds that it's hard to find a solid and affordable build that makes sense.
@daunted232 Жыл бұрын
If you already have an am4 motherboard, a 5800X3D is fantastic. Am5 motherboards have become a lot more affordable since release. For pure gaming fps the 5800X3D will win out in some games by quite a bit with others being pretty close. I would go for am5 if i didn't have an am4 mobo already because of the longer support for cpus.
@aaronc1785 Жыл бұрын
I do have an AM4 mobo currently, but I feel like my graphics card and CPU need upgrading. ASUS Turbo GTX970-OC-4GD5 NVIDIA is my Graphics card and AMD Ryzen 7 2700X is my CPU. I'm really not an expert, so wondering if it's the CPU or graphics card that needs changing, or both, for great improvements. (I haven't got a huge budget too) @@daunted232
