This was the first red dot I purchased. I don't know how many rds I have on it (maybe 3-5 thousand?) but its 7-8 years old and still goung strong with its original battery.

I got the HS403G Paralow back in 2016. It's the best RDS I own. The newer auto on-off RD sights I own (2 red 1 green dot) are okay, but the 403G is way way better. Love my Holosun!

I’m a Sig fan own 5 and 7s and have no complaints now after saying that I just purchased a Holosun 510c Combo with the magnifier it going on a 13.7 pined & welded JMAC JAKAL.

At this point Holosuns are proven. The HS403B was my first red dot on my first 2 ar15's. I've taken both rifles through many classes and range sessions in and out of the back of my truck. Over the years I never had any bad experiences and the battery life has proven to be accurate as advertised. If you're not running night vision and being submerged in water, this red dot will suffice for general purpose work, home defense, even duty use which may be up for debate. The mount should definitely be swapped out for something like an ADM or Midwest Industries mount. These mounts often will be on sale and if you can catch a Blem buy multiple for more optics.

How do you know which mounts to get from these companies that works with HS403B? Specifically with M-Lok

@@JaydE3much most of the mounts out now are picatinny only, however Midwest industries has a MLOK mount that works with the aimpoint footprint. That mount will work for the hs403 series and other aimpoint footprint optics. For the most part, almost every mount will be picatinny (it’s just a stronger lockup).

I have a 5 year old 403B and love it. Recently bought a Romeo 5 and was very disappointed. The Romeo’s dot is the same MOA but not nearly as clear the dot in my Holosun. Of course, it seems that everyone’s eyes have different preferences.

For the ~$120 price point, i like the simplicity and reliability of the Romeo 5, but window size and reticle of the SLX-RD25.

Any mount for the Aimpoint T1/T2 will work for these. Take your pick. So many good mounts. Unity, Reptilia, even cheap mounts aren’t bad for these.

403b can sit the lowest other than maybe the Bushnell TRS25. But the Holosun has more features. 403r sits higher and doesn’t have the auto off

Primary arms had the romeo7S green dot for 90 something dollars last week, the red dot was $99, I think thats about the best dot deal on the market.

I like the the Romeo 5 clones. They are made in china anyway so the rebranded ones on amazon I assume are just Romeo's that failed QC. So my theory is they are essentially blems and I pick them up for around $70.

I miss when they took the bigger 2032 battery in a side cap vs the smaller under optic tray. The HS503GU was my first holosun, and it's still my favorite.

No short mount for pistols or shotguns? All I see at a quick search is a American Defense AD-T1-L Quick-Release mount at a bit over $100.00. So a mount is almost as much as the red dot. Not Good Holosun.

I have 2 of these and they have been very good considering the price. I haven’t abused them but I have shot with them a lot and left them on for more than 2 years and they are still going strong.

Interesting experience with this red dot I had was it turning off from concussion from my muzzle brake at an indoor range. Not saying it's likely to happen without a brake indoors, which is a dumb idea btw, but it makes me prefer non button operated optics.

If Holosun or Sig Sauer offered the same warranty as Vortex or Primary Arms then I would consider using one. Until then any performance or price difference is negligible in exchange for the reassurance that you don't have to be careful or worry about the optic for life.

I have never seen a Vortex red dot that worked. Literally never. Primary Arms is amazing though, it’s really really hard to go with any other company when it comes to the budget red dot choice.

@@rifleshooterchannel208 I've never seen a vortex product that DIDN'T work. Especially because their warranty is the best in the business by far. You can find a broken Vortex product in a dumpster and they will give you a new one no questions asked. The ONLY requirement to use Vortex's warranty is that you are in possession of a broken Vortex product, period.

Nice review 👍 I just bought this sight in green dot for AR. I’m trying to zero it in with a 233 laser sight bullet but the problem is the dot won’t go down any further to match the laser dore dot. I may have to move it more further down the barrel.

I've read a lot of reviews about those laser bore sights where the laser is not centered in the "bullet". Roll it on a table or put it in a drill and spin it and see if the dot moves.

How does the dot look under magnification in comparison to a vortex sparc solar? I've heard the Vortex tends to have a crisper red dot and glass clarity under magnification over the holosun.

Love my 403B. I like the mount height more than the sig. I don’t shoot much anymore so it doesn’t get abused all that much so it’s pretty much perfect for me.
