I am new to guitar playing and my local mudic store recommended this one as a good step in model. I totally love it's sound. I think it even sounds a lot better than the Yamahs Pasifica I tried as well. I still am taking lessons, but I think I'll use this guitar for years to come. I've been watching a lot of guitar reviews videos For the cheaper budget guitars like Harley Benton and Jet and the other brands. What always loses me is when the reviewer criticises the tiny cosmetic imperfections or the insignificant parts of the guitar. When you shrugged your shoulders and said "meh" to the back plate and control knobs being cheap I thought to myself "well done". Some KZbin reviewers have unreasonable expectations when it comes to budget guitars. Cheaper brands like Harley Banton and Jet have managed to get the important things right and yet keep the price down. Parts that have no impact on sound or playability should not be overly criticised when it comes to this price point. Good video mate, Keep them coming

The stock pickups are actually ok, I changed the single coils to IronGear, but you don't need to, anybody as a new to intermediate player should do fine stock.

I have the jet 300 teli no belly cut no heel cutaway and I love it left-handed too I'm going to buy the 400 strat style and it's got to be sea foam green

Good overview of a great value guitar. It would be interesting to compare this with the Vintage V60 Coaster which is around the same price. I think the strong point of the JS-400 is the roasted maple neck and fretboard. I would probably want to upgrade the pickups, the machine heads and possibly the tremolo (maybe Wilkinson) at which point is is better to just buy something like a Vintage V6 reissued or Sire Larry Carlton S3 for around £350?

Got one of these yesterday, it dos the Strat thing without the daft price, raised the neck pickup just a smidge, made a big difference, the middle pickup has useable tones, but tbh, within an hour I ordered 2 new single coils, when I get those loaded, I'll make a decision on the HB, I've changed the pickups on guitars 20 times plus the price of this, for a beginner, they are fine, better than most budget guitars, I just know the sounds I am looking for. The setup is pretty good out the box, but, that will get done when I have the pups in too.

Hey Holiday, I got a lefty model and intend to put a Kent Armstrong HPAO-1 in the bridge. Its. Alnico 8.5, ...I,m looking to replace the middle and neck, to balance with it. I would be grateful for any recommendations, any particular Brand?

@@mytoobusr I put IronGear pig iron single coils in the neck and middle, the normal wound, they also do overwound version of these. The original pups in the Jet are actually not bad, if someone is reading this and it is their first guitar, don't feel compelled to change them, I play live, sometimes I even get paid, and there is a sound I am looking for, I have an SG and Les Paul for high gain, I wanted a Strat style for occasional use, for more twang, and these pickups in that guitar, does the job.

@@LOFIGSD Yes, quite right. The stock pick ups are fine. The bridge is quite high output and is ceramic, I already have this Alnico that I prefer, and its a matching cream colour, hence the swap out. Thanks for the "iron gear" tip.

i got the pink one with rw board,nice,you need to lube up the nut and string retainer,i did some cavity shielding with copper,changed the pots to 250k audio,it needs treble bleed though,did the autosplit in position 2,but you need to cut the bridge trace between the central points in the standard switch,be aware of that,resulting sound is correct but pickups being very underwound tend to be shrill and not much body to it,dcr readings are 7,3k for the HB and 5k and something for the SC. Overall good but it could be better

Great review.. i was looking at getting the tom delonge strat just released but aint paying £1300 for mexican strat.. im looking at the js400 relic in seafoam green. Very similar to what you played. Rosewood fingerboard. Same pickups. Do you think would make a good tom delonge project. Whack a seymour duncan invader in there.some new wiring. New bridge and pickgaurd.. think maybe a good way tp go .what do you think ? Look better guitars than the squiers ..

Yeah for the money you are going to be hard pressed to find a better way to do it. Maybe a Harley benton lower end strat and relic, but the neck isn't as good.

Did you tune it accurately before the demo? It's clearly out of tune. The nut looks dodgy, is it an intonation problem? It's difficult to judge from the video. Ta.

Your guitar color looks like Sea Foam Green. I have got also a Jet JS-400. But mine have a color like Surf Green. Are there different charges of the JS-400 with different green colors?

Hello could you please tell me the difference between jet js 400 and jet js 400 sfg (relic). On Jet’s official website one is 179e while other is 349e. I hope the difference is not just aesthetics?Thank you in advance.

I know this is an old post. I just recieved my identical Jet JS400, in left handed, as a beginner. I have found the low e string gets out of tune overnight, each night. The other strings stay relatively closely tuned. I've stretched the strings. I do keep my a/c at about 72 degrees. Why does my low E get out of tune always? is that common or have to do with crappy strings or is the tuner likely slipping?

There are a few things it could be. The strings certainly. Have you changed them and still have the same issue? It could be the nut, but that would usually put you out of tune as you played. Or it could be, possibly most likely, the tuner is slipping. There is a screw at the end, try giving that a little tighten.

@@yaguitar I'll try the screw. it doesn't slip when I play. and all of the other strings except low e are staying in tune. The factory strings may be horrid, but I wouldn't know without changing them, as I haven't the experience. Thanks for the reply.

Why you don't dear to say that this budget guitar plays and sounds even better then most expensive fenders. Cheap knobs ?: What a bullshit ! They are only other coloured than Fender knobs. Even if these guitars would have cost 800€ or more people would say : What a great greatguitar for the money. Well adjusted, allso very experienced and spoiled guitarplayers LOVE this guitar....Why you don't dear to say that ? .I think people are so scared for critics from Fender people :)

It's not better than the best fender I've played. However it is better than squire classic vibes (owner by fender) and similar guitars as I said in the video. A video where I say the guitar is wonderful and excellent for 3 times the price. I say it has cheap knobs, because it does. And the backplate was badly fitted. I also say it has one of the best necks I've ever played. I repeatedly say how great it is and how much I love it. I recommend this to anyone looking for a budget or mid priced strat whenever I'm asked as well. So no, not scared.
