Can your v-mount batteries do everything these can? What would you use the USB-C PD ports for? Also, ZGCINE released a Pro version of their battery handle with spring loaded locating pins, angle adjustment, and coiled cables. I'll add a link as soon as they're up for sale.

Ooh I wonder if the grip could handle being screwed into the horizontal mount holes on the pavotubes to really boost their run times.
@NewLayer8 ай бұрын
Hmmmm, interesting thought. If not, you could always connect the v-mounts with a magic arm and achieve the same thing, even longer run times!

Considering the ZGCINE ZG-X160 (156Wh) version, but I wonder how it compares to the Core SWX NANOX V150
@NewLayer2 ай бұрын
I don't have personal experience with that battery, but I've heard good things. It costs more (the ZGCINE is actually 10% off right now on Amazon), and looks like it has 2 USB-A and 1 USB-C, while the ZGCINE has 2 USB-C ports.

Please help I bought the h90 and it doesn’t handle my amaran 60xs 😢 I can’t I think the voltage is not high enough …
@NewLayer3 ай бұрын
Something isn't right, the 60x S only needs 12-19V, a.k.a. standard v-mount voltage, and the H90 should handle it no problem. They even use the Amaran 60 lights in marketing materials. I would get in touch with them, it's either a faulty battery handle or cable, or something else going on.

Ok I got to be honest, I saw the first half and was thinking ok, nothing much new and a lot of alternatives.. then that battery grip came unexpected. That’s different and a really nice option to have. I think you should have shown or spoken about that first, because others may overlook it and miss it. The preview pic didn’t make it that obvious. Any way, nice quick review and cool product!
@NewLayer8 ай бұрын
Fair enough, I'll be posting the batteries and grip as separate videos/posts on socials, just combined them for KZbin, so hopefully that works :) I too am way more excited about the battery handles than anything else. They are releasing a Pro version with some upgrades too.
@dwmspace8 ай бұрын
Ok nice, the Pro version sounds even better and that will surely get a lot of attention with your review of it and then also bring attention to this one.
@NewLayer8 ай бұрын
@@dwmspace Yep the Pro version has spring loaded locating pins, an angle adjustable head, and comes with coiled cables!

I have the older version and been with me in weddings, the 200W model. ZGCine is a good quality brand with a bargain price.

Glad to hear their batteries have treated you well in a professional setting!

I'm curious what devices you are powering on a wedding day. I am considering getting one of this for the same line of work.
@NewLayer2 ай бұрын
@@kybephotography I'm not who you tagged, but since it has USB-C and D-TAP ports, you can power pretty much anything with the right cables!
@Bo_Hazem2 ай бұрын
@@kybephotography Here weddings can extend between 5-6 hours. Also weddings here are separated: Men have theirs, women have theirs. So you can't really take a break in most cases, especially if you're going live. Currently it's only the camera and the monitor, but when I start doing live each camera would have 300WH batteries instead to avoid hassle while keeping the internal battery in. It all depends on how much footage you're going to film. Here our weddings are tribal and traditional and it can be as long as 4-5 hours of streaming, while the camera itself is setting on Tilta's shoulder rig. To quickly mount the shoulder rig on the fluid head tripod I had to buy the Falcam F50 which grabs the manfrotto-based dovetail instead of ripping off the back end so you could slide it in. Any curious question I'll happily answer, just bare in mind that we have totally different kind of weddings which is similar to events in terms of preparation. Warm regards.

If I run the Godox ML 100 bi on this battery grip, will I get 100% output? And if so, will it run for around 1 hour?
@NewLayerАй бұрын
Yes, you will get 100% output. At full power, you should get around 50-55 minutes of run time.

same as colbor PG77/99 . which is better?
@NewLayer5 ай бұрын
I've never used the Colbor, but it looks a little shorter and fatter if that matters. It does not have any locating pins if that matters to you. And ZGCine now has a "Pro" version with an angle adjustment and coiled cable as well.

@NewLayer8 ай бұрын
I'll never let you handle my batteries now 😤 There are definitely more rugged batteries that can handle daily drops on set, but I can never justify the cost for the type of work I do.
@dwmspace8 ай бұрын
@@NewLayer If one needs something rugged, which do you recommend?
@NewLayer8 ай бұрын
@@dwmspace The 2 I have experience with that I would consider rugged are the Titon line from Anton Bauer, which are VERY expensive geni.us/antonbauertiton150 or the new batteries from CAME-TV: geni.us/cametvmini99c which have less USB-C ports and only support 65W max via USB-C PD

Honestly, it's not much more affordable than other options on the market with credit to their name such as Swit and FXLion.
@NewLayer8 ай бұрын
The big difference is that these support up to 100W via USB-C, while the vast majority of other batteries only support 45-65W. That means they can't be used for higher power things, even most 60 watt COB lights, since they require 70-80W. The FXLion Nano series only supports 45-60W and comparable Swit batteries support up to 65W. The two other differences are that these have 2 USB-C ports instead of just 1 like most others, as well as the 1/4" and 3/8" integrated threads I find very useful. If those specs don't benefit your specific work, then other options may work just fine for you!
