So easy to have good cable management but SOOO much easier to just plug shit in and rock out
@rubenpoveda9254 Жыл бұрын
I like your cable management but I'm seeing some things I would have done differently. -For starters, when I'm doing a serious cable management I prefer removing everything off the desk and make a fresh start. This way you could have flipped the desk board upside down and properly aligned the cable racks you put underneath before you screw them in. Also, is easier to avoid tangled cables if you start from scratch. If a cable is very long you can coil apart the extra length with some velcro ties to reduce the cable mess. Normally I prefer to start by placing the power cables first, since they go to the power strip and the rest of the cables usually go to the PC and this way I can better structure where the cables go. - Not a fan of plastic zip ties, velcro ties all the way. They are a must have. - The problem with double sided tape is not if they are going to fall, the question is when, because they will eventually fall. Those small black pieces from the cable management kit come with very bad tape and are a pain in the ass. The rubbery ones falls constantly and the clip ones broke very easy. My favorite thing to clip cables under the desk are adjustable cable ties that you can stick to the desk but have a hole if you one to put a little screw and fix them for good. Like these: es.aliexpress.com/item/1005003717095442.html - You could have used a white mesh cover to hide the monitor cables and avoid sticking anything to the wall. It will crack the paint if you remove it. Another option, since the monitors are very close together, I would run the cables from the center monitor to the right monitor and run the cables along the camera arm. In that case maybe you'll need longer cables but the outcome would be very clean.

Maybe I'm just too OCD, but to me hiding everything is not cable management. The mess behind the Alex Drawers would stress me the eff out. My cables are neat everywhere, whether you can see them or not, which also makes it not an absolute nightmare to remove one thing when needed.

My first time cable “managing” after building my first pc I quite literally used packing tape and zip ties, which was indeed a pain in the ass to undo when I was moving into my own apartment. It’s been almost a year since I moved and I still haven’t cable managed again, guess I’m just gonna wait for when I build my next pc next month

My frustration is finding a tray that can be mounted BEHIND the desk. My new desks are small and have a back panel so the back of the desk is a flat surface. I'm looking for a 24-32" x 4" tray to hold everything that is mounted to the vertical plane. Everything I find is mounted to the bottom of the table top,the horizontal plane, and that doesn't work for me. Any ideas?

Cable management is easy. The tools and items used are expensive. My table has a back plate, leaving just half inch of table top on the back, which means most of the cable management tools and tips are useless to me.

The "best" cable management guide? Really? Sorry - but the "best" cable management guide would take you through all the popular cable management equipment available and what to use in what situation. "I haven't done any management in 2 years" so how are you qualified to even suggest your guide is the "best"? Then you take us through what you bought - "i got some cable management things" - "i got some more cable management things". Pathetic and useless. Be better!
