What a beautiful 1957 Caddy! The 1950’s had its bad times but had innovative times also. We own a beautiful 2008 DTS in White Diamond Tricoat. These full size Cadillacs were the end of an era too. We went on a 2100 mile vacation in June and July 2024 and were blessed with 30.68mpg with a Northstar V8. The car now has 89,000+ miles.

Chris, you have a keen eye. I noticed that too. It always looked to me that in the 1950’s Cadillac would introduce a new body style a year before the rest of the GM Divisions (Chevy, Olds, Pontiac, Buick) were allowed to mimic it. Come to think of it, for ‘54 even Buick and Olds got the sleeker, more modern style while the ‘54 Chevy and Pontiac had to go one more year with the bulbous, frumpy style. Contrast all of that versus the late ‘70’s and ‘80’s when they all looked alike except for badges and minor differences in chrome trim!

I had a four door 57 in 67. It was pink with a white top. Stationed in Oklahoma at the time. It was so mint, plastic on seats! I loved that car with its ice cold a/c. I believe I paid about $800 bucks at a dealer for it. Omg

My brother and I had a '57 Caddy Coupe in '67, but we paid $350. It was lowered price Caddy. No power windows, tinted glass,.or power seats. It was a great car. My brother was 6'4" tall, but if he put the front seat all the way back, he couldn't touch the pedals.

Are the gold accents standard or are they a dealer ad on option?
@callawayclassics10 ай бұрын
That's a great question. I'm not that well versed in this generation Cadillac so I can't say for sure. I would guess it was standard on the Coupe de Ville since most I have seen have the gold accents. Maybe the standard Series 62 did not have them and then when you got the Coupe de Ville option that is when you got the gold? Maybe a Cadillac expert will chime in here. I do know they look good though, really pop on the car

I don't like putting up the price because I have to go back and edit the video once the car sells. The price is always listed on our website (linked in the video description) when the car is for sale. This car has already been sold but was listed at 43k. Thanks for the feedback!

At 43,000.00 I'd need to see the undercarriage/frame ect. I's 12,000.00 less than my 2023 MB cost me and looks far better. Outside of the 1963 and 1964 Cadillac Convertibles (I owned a 1963 convertible with fact. AC) the 1957's were the best designed. In 1958 they lowered the dagmars and made them smaller, big mistake I always thought.

Lol! I'd be a nervous wreck with a car like that! Always afraid some feature on it would stop working, and how easy would that be to get repaired now!?!? Then I'd be worried about parking it near anyone for fear of them disrespecting it, and banging their door into the side of it! Maybe on purpose! Lol. I think I am better off with my ugly modern day car. Then if I put a ding in it, I wouldn't be as sick! Beautiful machine though!
@callawayclassics10 ай бұрын
Haha yes, other drivers/parking lots are always a concern of mine. One of the few guarantees in life - if you park your classic car by itself in the back of the parking lot, there will be someone parked right next to you when you return from the store. That's why I really like original paint survivor cars, they already have a ding or two on them so you don't cry when that ding happens. Thanks for checking it out!
