If you add a wash light at a 45 degree angle you won’t have trouble with focusing and it will look more crisp

I just came across a Facebook ad for this and decided to do a little KZbin research on it. I think the audio sounds pretty good, but the picture quality is lackluster. I really think there are probably some better options if a person can spend just a tad more money! Thanks for this review!!!

Great review… I’ve had the Q2N for a while. Got it right before the launched the 4K which was a bit gutting! So yep, I’d agree the picture isn’t great at all - and if that’s what you need for vlogs or art videos etc, then don’t get it. But I use it mainly for my guitar lessons, to send video clips to my teacher - and also as a desktop mike for daily computer conf calls, and just our ‘charge up & throw in the backpack’ spare video cam for weekends away and when we don’t want to drain cellphone battery life. We love it! But my music teacher loves it more, as he says the sound & sync is way better than the iPhone clips from his other students. (So I’d probably be scored a grade lower without it tbh… ;)

Lol that's great! Yes I do wish the video quality was a bit better but it's really made for musicians. A quality microphone that happens to have a camera . Hopefully the next version has a better video quality! Thx for watching and good luck in your classes!👍🏾

We can all admit it... The image quality is BAD. You would be better recording with your phone and use the AM7 USB-C or just get the Zoom H2n.

I think the sound quality is really good (I have the Zoom H2n that I like to use and at some point plan on getting other products from them). What I noticed right away was that I wasn't hearing the reflections from the room that I was hearing before. However, the video quality looks a little grainy compared to before (I'm guessing it's a DSLR you normally use?).

Yeah I agree. The video looks better with proper lighting but not so much in low light. Audio sounds great tho. My normal camera is a Sony A6400

Your review was fine but the product isn't what it's hyped up to be. I ordered the Q2n-4K on Thursday, received it on Saturday, fully tested it on Saturday and Sunday and started the product return process on Monday. I didn't expect to get a Black Magic 4K or 6K quality product but there are more bells and whistles on this product than quality output on the back end. The camera in 4K mode is closer to 720p and I'm being kind. The monitor on the rear of the device look like something from the Flip Phone era it's so pixelated. Yet, when you look at the social media ads, Zoom has the screen looking like it's a high-res monitor. The various filters don't match what they're promoted to do and the cover located on the bottom for the batteries and SDXC card has a plastic latch so flimsy that if you pull it too hard, eventually it's going to break. I tested it against my Logitec Logi 1080p and the Logi looked more 4K with no noise and it's actually 1080p. I like the concept of the the Q2n-4K but the engineering and design is too much for such a small package as I see it. Zoom is a great audio company with top of the line audio products. This venture into video leaves a lot to be desired so until they can produce a video/audio combination product that's so good it doesn't need to be hyped, stay with audio Zoom. Some will say "what did you expect for $199?" and I can only say, something worth $199.00. Just my take.

I bought it for doing covers but now that I have an Iphone 14 pro max there is a USB mic function and I intend to use it in mic mode only with the Iphone.

I'd be surprised if the image sensor is native 4k. This is a B can for podcasts at best unless there's some miraculous firmware update.

Thank you for dropping this review. There’s not many out there here on YT. I purchased one myself and see that pic is grainy in lower light scenarios but in better lighting it looks great especially in 4K. I love the Mic input and the ability to Monitor. Good piece of starter equipment. Salute.

Truthfully I could see this being useful but video quality doesn't look like true 4K or maybe that's just the resolution of the sensor I see a lot of noise I feel like the mic is more of an investment than the actual camera footage

Question: Might I be able to attach a tv monitor to this camera? I bought one two or three years ago. Have only used it once because of not being able to monitor the video. I do like the sound recording quality though.

No you wouldn't unless you hook it to a laptop as a Webcam because it doesn't have a video out connection, only the usb

I'm a newbi to video and got this camera to try livestreaming. When I connect to my laptop I have no options to change to 1080p 60fps or to 4k or anything else. It just defaults to whatever and looks very grainy. How do I get a good video when livestreaming? Do I have to buy a real camera? Hope you can help
