You clearly havent used the stkr concepts fli pro lights. They have stakes on the legs. Light can do red or white, has a remote to change, and you can use it as a flashlight with a magnet!

the CVT light works as 3 pill shaped lights or as indiv. lights. all three have hooks for hanging and are all solar. this pole light is way overpriced for what it does...or doesnt do.

@@stevep1794 I have the Readylight from Freespirit which is similar to the CVT and with smaller pods. Amber color lighting is my preference and the new models have that so I'm selling my version. I do like the idea of perimeter lighting as per the suggestions in this comment thread.

Not a chance. I looked those up. Only 800 lumens and no 9 ft stand. Light from those won’t do straight down like Devos.

​@@barryraven4745 if brightness is your only concern then go for it, but, We have both and never find ourselves needing those extra lumens, when we are running both at 800 the sofrin gets about 1 hour more runtime. the sofrin has a tripod mount in the bottom so if your saving space you can have the tripod as a multiuse item, buy a tripod the exact size you need for your situation or even make a bracket to mount it to your can using magnet or clamp tripods. the light from the sofrin dosnt hit the ground straight below when its about 0.5m off the ground but once its about 1.5m or higher off the ground then yes it dose light the ground below perfectly. the lightranger is able to be charged while using and also has a battrypack that they sell separately to extend the battery life. the sofrin can be charge by an external battery pack as well but it allso takes 18650 batteries whitch alot of overlanders carry alot of thoese for torches making it very convinient to just change over the batterys rather than needing to make the lantern more bulky or have a cable running to it. the sofrin is also made of aluminium and takes the beating far better than the lightranger. im in Australia and here the lightranger costs $243 and the sofrin costs $90. I dare say, the sofrin loses in regard to 1 spec but the sofrin out weighs it in everything else.

​@@barryraven4745 I own both and have found i reach for the sofrin over the lightranger, didn't find i need more than 800lm and only switched to 1200lm because the option was there while doing setups when arriving at empty camps but when using 800lm i never felt it wasn't enough. and i normally run them on 400lm around camp while cooking and such. when running both at 800lm i get about 1 hour more from the sofrin. the sofrin lights the ground below it as long as its more than 1m off the ground. the sofrin has a tripod mount in the bottom so you can use any tripod making single use items into multiuse items. or you can get a tripod the perfect size for your application. they even have tripods with magnets or clamps making it far more versatile. freestanding, yep you can sit the sofrin on a table. as for colour temperature you can change the sofrin with a click of a button and fade between white an orange light to get it just how you want it rather than carrying extra coloured covers and having to change them manually. for packability the shape of the sofrin is easier to fit into places, for build quality the sofrin is made of metal, not plastic. they both have usb-c with pass through charging, but the sofrin also has changeable 18650 battery's which a lot of people rather. I'm in Australia and here the price of the lightranger is $280 and the Sofrin is $92. for the price of 1 lightranger i can get 2 Sofrins and 2 amazon tripods and still have $60 more in my pocket. and 2x 800lm is brighter than 1200lm. so id say the sofrin has better specs.
