BC is gorgeous! Nothing like drinking whisky in the great outdoors. I think I'd take the Lot40 12yr as the best Canadian I'd had. Cheers boys

I'd go with Lot40 11 Cask Strength personally. But Lot40 is as good as Canadian gets, for my money!

Just cracked open a bottle of that JP 35 while watching and it is indeed quite great. 1st time I've seen one of your videos and I will check out a lot more. Great job, guys.

Audio (and video) quality was excellent by the way....perfect lighting and location. Nicely done, and now I may need to pull the trigger on a Whisky Exchange order to snag that 35....problems indeed...

Wiser's 35 is a magical bottle for sure. I was very pleasantly surprised! I didn't realize the mashbill was so corn-forward. Interesting. Thanks for putting out great content, fellas!

I still have an unopened bottle of the Wiser's 35, and it looks like I'm going to like it a lot! Trouble with the CC40 is there ain't no more... Thanks for the two-bottle shootout!

Hey Trenny and C! That location at Shawnigan Lake is beautiful! What is the name of that place you shot your video from? Is it a hotel or resort? What is it called? I wanna go there!

Awesome! I liked when you made the joke about maple syrup and a Moose, except, let's be honest, that is not actually uncommon while camping here!! My flavour preference lines up with your choices too, but those are both damn fine. Cheers!

Awesome video guys, been waiting for a head to head review of these two great Canadian whiskies. I was just getting into whiskey when the 35yo came out and I got me a bottle. With the new 41yo Canadian Club price tag I've passed on that bottle. Good to know I've got the better of the two ;) Keep up the good work and love these head to head reviews! Also, do you worry about having those bottles out in the sun for too long?
@trennyandcwhisky5 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy glad you liked the video. I think a few minutes in the sun is fine, but a few hours might not be so good.

Are you specifically speaking of Canadian rye? Glen Breton 14 year single malt is pretty amazing!!
@trennyandcwhisky5 жыл бұрын
Good point! Other than Glen Breton there are very few Canadian Single Malts that are mature enough to complete with these. Maybe in a few years there’ll be some competitors?!

Dear Brothers, The duration of the vlog being under 15 min. is good because if it is too long people would not watch it uninterruptedly. They might get bored after 10 min. or so. Please show the labels properly so that viewers can well read the labels. Thank you

@@trennyandcwhisky The last whisky fest I went to they were supposed to have CC 41, but the rep did not show up. Very disappointed. I tried Wiser 35 at the same festival and I loved it.

I'm still a bit new when it comes to tasting, but have always found CC to have plasticky notes. It's why I tend to stay away from it. That said Looking to buy a bottle of wiser's 35 to celebrate my 35th this year.
@whiskyxing5 жыл бұрын
would you say the CC40 is closer to a Highland Scotch (or Irish) where Wiser's is more like a bourbon?
@trennyandcwhisky5 жыл бұрын
I'd say the CC40 is closer to a regular canadian whisky, lots of sweat corn notes, very little spice. Where the Wiser's is more complex with different clove notes and spices, rye style spice. Both are a little more oily and oak influenced but still relatively light spirits. Just my opinion. Cheers - Trenny

So these are bottom shelf stuff for rich people lol. That’s crazy 40 years old. I can almost guarantee I won’t find it here in the US

Does anyone know if 35 years old will be in the market every once a while or it will be discontinued. Just want to make sure that i got a bottle before it’s too late.

The 35 year will be changing to a 23 year for the next Northern Border Collection. If you want a bottle you better get it now.

We’re aiming to do the Bourbon Trail next Spring! What’s the best time of year to visit? You must have a bourbon festival we can visit too right?!
@jakegibson4245 жыл бұрын
Trenny and C best time of year to visit is May/June if you’re asking me. With Derby it’s a fun time in Louisville. But the Bardstown Bourbon Festival is in Sep. and it’s a week long of sipping corn heaven haha. Full of low brow and high brow events, and several concerts. Plus it’s in Bardstown, where most of it’s produced/ central to the state so you can get to other distilleries easily.

@trennyandcwhisky5 жыл бұрын
Lot40cs is totally different from a flavour and strength perspective, but it is definitely one of the best Canadian whiskies on the market today, if not the best!
@peterwhite5075 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Wiser's 35 is better IMO, but not the best. The best Canadian Whisky (100% Rye) is bottled in the US by either Whistlepig or Cooper Spirits (Hochstader 16 year Rye or the Lock Stock & Barrel 16/18 year.)Possibly the Barrell Rye 13 year Canadian and last but not least is Lot 40 12 year. The AP 25 and 30 year Rye's are in the running and even the Highwood Stampede 25 year Corn Whisky. The sad truth is they are all limited, long gone or US releases. That's a shame. I blame Beam Global for sending all that aged high proof ADL Rye to the US and leaving us with drech. These Canadian Whisky reviews bring out the long winded rants in me :)
