Finally got around to getting these installed in my ev Niro. Fit perfectly, and the install was very easy - maybe 5 minutes (minus sweeping the carpet). A couple of additional notes: 1) For those who don't have experience with KIA and similar mats, they slip off the retainer clips by pulling the front of the mat up and toward the seat, at which point they slip off the hooks. 2) my carpet is black, so sharpies don't work to mark the hole for the retainer. I just used a push-pin tack to mark the hole location. As your video indicated, jamming the retainer's pin into the carpet was the hardest part of the install - a very minor quibble. I do, however, wish all these aftermarket replacement mats could just tie into the existing retainer hooks. I'm now prepared for the wet season ahead. I agree that these are awesome mats. Thanks for the tips!

No raises edge in the back because of the heat vents. A raised edge will impede flow. And may disform the mat. Most of the water that is accumulated in the winter is in the driver footwell

I know for a fact that all, and even this brand, that not every cars can get a deep edge. Depend on the car. I had a college that had a Mazda 3 and had a mats that was about 3-4 inches deep because that car floor was like a box. Just like yours. I couldn’t have the same for my Versa. Now. Your car’s mats would be perfect if it wasn’t your pedal. It looks good for my 2015 Corolla but unfortunately I already got the Husky weatherbeater.
@EV-olution4 жыл бұрын
The car with the pedal that goes to the ground is my wife's 2019 Soul EV, but even with that type of pedal there was no water or salt on the carpet underneath. In my Niro EV the pedal is suspended above so it is completely protected. I have another video called 1 year later and I show the results of having used these mats over a winter. They are amazing.
@chauffeurmarco4 жыл бұрын
EV-olution it’s hard to find high edges. I bought the Weathertech 6 years ago. It was a huge mistake. The rear end edge was not high enough. I deliver food and go in and out about 50-70 times a day so it doesn’t have time to dry. Consequences, water spilled on the carpet and froze. It corroded the wires that passe through the floor and it cost me a $1000 to re wired the hole thing.

Funny....all the "issues" he has stated about Weathertech mats are ALL NOT a problem for me in my car. Besides....Tux mat doesn't make a set for my 2009 Lexus is250 RWD model. So I will never know of its "better" than my Weathertech mats.
@EV-olution4 жыл бұрын
I made this video based on my personal experiences; I have owned Weathertech mats in more than one car and in the province of Québec we get a lot of snow over 5 months of winter which gives a mix of snow, slush and water, mixed with salt that is used heavily on our roads. In all of my previous cars over the past 34 years, including with Weathertech mats, I have had dirt, water and calcium buildup in the carpet of the car. With these Tuxmat mats I had no dirt, water, or calcium (see my 1 year later video), which really impressed me. I can only speak from my experiences, but if you have no issues with Weathertech then there is no reason to spend money on anything else because Weathertech is still a good mat. I hope this clarifies things and thanks for watching 🙂

If you have Costco, like here and in the US, they carry the Phantom brand, which is Tuxmat branded for Costco. Unfortunately Tuxmat does not ship overseas. I have asked them, but they don't. Sorry. @pavanvoggu72234 жыл бұрын
Hi Andre, Firstly, a good attention-to-detail and very well described. Great job. I thought of going for Weathertech but thought twice because of the half cover for kick pedal. I've got two questions for you: 1. These liners' surface seems to have padded leather finish. Not sure if that provides a good grip while getting in and out of the car. Are they slippery when shoes are wet/snowy? I found Weathertech liners to be slippery with wet and snowy shoes. 2. These liners look chunky compared to Weathertech, Husky or others. Do they eat up the leg space or give you the feeling of less leg space in your car? Your suggestions would be helpful.
@EV-olution4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the compliment, I appreciate it. Regarding your questions... 1) The mats are padded with a finish made of some sort of rubber/plastic; I am not quite sure what they are made of, but I have not had any issues with slipping with snow or water. No more than with my previous car's Weathertechs. 2) There is no loss in space that you would notice. Losing 2mm of height, compared to Weathertech, because of the thickness is nothing, and I really like the extra soundproofing the Tuxmats offer. The only negative I can offer is that they are softer material than the very hard, shell-like, Weathertech mats. If someone has spikes, or pointy heels and would press down hard, it would go through the surface of the mats, but with boots and shoes I have had zero issues and still highly recommend them as the best mats I have owned. I hope this helps and thanks for watching :-)
