This is what happened with shaq in the game against the clippers. He was purposely fouling and playing bad so he could be subbed out and have some rest for his upcoming party. But then he saw Kareem Abdul Jabar on the sideline telling the clippers bench how to guard shaq. Shaqs idol was Kareem and so he didn't want to play poorly infront of him. So then he turned in the jets and did his thing.

I know this is gonna upset some sensitive people, but I can’t really take Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell’s accomplishments to heart. The NBA didn’t really have all around talent until the late 70s, early 80s. As the saying goes, these dudes were playing against plumbers and carpenters. They were definitely great players. But the level of competition just wasnt even fair. My personal opinion is that we can’t really give these stats 100% their credit or due. I know this will upset people, but clearly I don’t care. It’s just my personal opinion.
