2006 Wade is almost unmatchable. People talk about his FT attempts in game 5, but realistically, that game is ranked 13th amongst most FT games of all-time. Not only that- but it’s like an 8 way tie for 13th place. 1 less freethrow puts him from about 20 on that list, to 30. Edit; that all being said- he was also constantly driving to the lane which results in more FT attempts, the Mavs didn’t have someone doing that. MJ got to the line constantly in his career but he was constantly driving. Just stuff to consider when talking about the 2006 finals.

I think 2011 Dirk deserves a mention at least here. Maybe it wasn't the best statistical performance, but he just had moment after moment in the finals against Miami in 2011. The Game 2 winner which capped off a 15-point comeback in the final 7 minutes, Game 4 performance where he was actually a bit sick yet still outperformed himself and Game 6 dagger over Chris Bosh... Plus, like his long-time rival Tim Duncan, he did not have a bona fide Super Star alongside (maybe Jason Kidd and Jason Terry, but I'm not sure) yet he lead a win over prime Chris Bosh, best Dwayne Wade as a part of the Big Three and LeBron.

Where magic in 1980,he was a rookie and put up 22/11/ 9 on 57% FG.And he was put up these numbers when Kareem suffered a severely sprained ankle. He managed to come back in the game in the fourth quarter to lead the Lakers to victory and a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. And then in game 6 magic recorded 42 points and 15 rebounds playing the center position to win the NBA title. No he shouldn't lol. 1980 Magic wasn't better than anyone on this list. He wasn't even the best player in that series (Kareem was). You want to give Magic a spot based on one game. @@jace2057 Finals greatness can be distilled into the following categories: -Narrative: the story your victory tells -Stats: how transcendent you were statistically -Moments: pivotal, clutch plays that become cemented in the iconography of the NBA -Big Games: memorable performances particularly in must win games Giannis’ 2021 Finals was practically flawless when assessed with this rubric: 1) he played immediately after a potentially career altering injury 2) he registered the highest GmSc in Finals history making his overall performance the most efficient in history 3) the block (game 4) and the oop (game 5) will go down as two of the most iconic finals moments in history 4) his 50 point, 5 block closeout game is the greatest series clinching effort in Finals History When taking all of this into account, Giannis’ Finals Performance is superior to the majority of the entries on the list, only behind MJ and Lebron’s.
