2006 Wade is almost unmatchable. People talk about his FT attempts in game 5, but realistically, that game is ranked 13th amongst most FT games of all-time. Not only that- but it’s like an 8 way tie for 13th place. 1 less freethrow puts him from about 20 on that list, to 30. Edit; that all being said- he was also constantly driving to the lane which results in more FT attempts, the Mavs didn’t have someone doing that. MJ got to the line constantly in his career but he was constantly driving. Just stuff to consider when talking about the 2006 finals.

I think 2011 Dirk deserves a mention at least here. Maybe it wasn't the best statistical performance, but he just had moment after moment in the finals against Miami in 2011. The Game 2 winner which capped off a 15-point comeback in the final 7 minutes, Game 4 performance where he was actually a bit sick yet still outperformed himself and Game 6 dagger over Chris Bosh... Plus, like his long-time rival Tim Duncan, he did not have a bona fide Super Star alongside (maybe Jason Kidd and Jason Terry, but I'm not sure) yet he lead a win over prime Chris Bosh, best Dwayne Wade as a part of the Big Three and LeBron.

Magic Johnson averaged 21.5 points, 11.2 rebounds and 8.7 assists in 6 games in the 1980 NBA Finals in his rookie season and played all 5 positions! Especially people who’ve watched more than the finals in the 90s & 2000s. Some of its subjective I know. … But if you consider a 20-year-old kid who only finished 2 years of college. Played against the best team in the East. Played against every position including Daryl Dawkins who was a beast, Dr J who was at the top of his game averaging 22 points, 15 assists and 7 boards. And the eliminating game 42, 15, 7… wow if that doesn’t make top 3, I have no idea what the hell criteria you’re working with.
