I have waters that both look insanely beautiful, in the middle of forest surroundings and they all hold carp you literally dream about, all over where I live and yet sometimes fishing for them is so much harder than I wish it would be, fishing for a hobby like this is illegal here and although many of us do it, it doesn't come without its hassle and problems at times for sure. I miss the Uk and spent many many years catching beautiful carp there but what I actually miss most, is being able to fish openly and freely how I wanted, with all my gear, and not having to check over my shoulder, make sure everything's good with where I am, blah blah. Anyway great video

Great fishing Jacob.👍 I fish the stow and find pre baiting works well there. It’s a place where u always have to keep on the move. Once u find the fish then they are pretty easy to catch. The big common always seems to hang around back end of the 3. It’s always an exciting place to fish . 🎣

Great catch from The Stow and I'm a fellow Londoner and love your videos. But... I've got a real problem with people holding ancient carp while they talk about the capture. Sure get some video footage as well as stills, but save the chat for when the fish has gone back. It is the equivalent of somebody holding your head underwater when you're 90 years old!! All the best.
@patrickdnb78812 жыл бұрын
I never comment on vids. But I’d have to unfortunately agree. It’s probably not that long to be fair. But why not do as this above comment and pop it back asap and then chat away, knowing a stunner like that is back in the water and no longer stressed. They go through a lot and then held out of water. I bet if this one could talk it would be screaming “Get me back please” most of the catches are imho out to long.
@fiestaturbo12872 жыл бұрын
Notice in a few videos fish are sacked for no reason, catch and release.
@jacoblondoncarper48572 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feed-back. I understand your point and it’s probably down to me waffling on for longer than anticipated. I aim to talk whilst holding the fish long enough for you to get a good look, my words ran away with me slightly on this one.

@@patrickdnb7881 Thanks for the response Patrick. To be honest I thought I would get a lot of stick for this comment! Ive been carp fishing since 1988 and although I'm not saying that must mean I'm right, I have learned a lot in that time! Young fish and up to around 20/30 years old fish can stand quite a wile out of the water, but just because they CAN dent mean people SHOULD! Like we agree, these are old, old fish and I don't think it even makes a better video for having them gulping for air while the captor chats away! Some of the videos ive seen are shocking! The length of time some noddy will be wittering on for ages about the bait he caught it on, the conditions, the snags, the rig etc etc. Not good!
@mattiemclean98822 жыл бұрын
@@jacoblondoncarper4857 I totally get that mate. My mind would be blown too. Like I say, I love your vids and it is no criticism of you per se, just the trend for lots of anglers doing this. If I had caught one of those old Walthamstow Warriors I would be over the moon, but if it turned up dead two days later I would be more than gutted! Just saying. I think maybe on this one you were "borderline!" all the best.

youll get snapped off every time if you lock up the drag and try brutus it. you need to give a little so they can kite round off the danger area. stow has had pressure every single day of the carp lives. they are not pasties or like other fish you can bully. they know how NOT to be caught better than you know how to catch them. ive been going walthamstow since i was 14yo, and im 43 now.
@jacoblondoncarper48572 жыл бұрын
I understand your point. As I was fishing the near margin against the snag, it seemed the fish went through it before I could even pick up the rod. That’s why I start fishing off the spot slightly to ensure landing every fish I hooked.
@kingnigel1412 жыл бұрын
@@jacoblondoncarper4857 yeah my bad, i commented and paused just as you lost it, and felt say something. can you keep a secret from your nash buddies? they have a reputation for poaching fish to put in their lake. alot of lea valley lakes were claimed to be netted, nobody ever knew how many fish were actually removed, they are now low stock venues nobody fishes, with monsters in. anyway, the small pit 500m north of the top king george ressie is free to fish and as long as you are quiet, nobody will bother you.
@donmoore25492 жыл бұрын
I turned off when you fished so close to the snag that you cannot land the fish and had to hand line it into the net . That is the problem with inexperienced anglers with a camera teaching others how not to do it.
@jacoblondoncarper48572 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure I’ve seen the most experienced anglers in the game fishing against snags. When I realised how bad the sunken snags were I didn’t fish the spot again🤷🏻♂️
@jamesknight19152 жыл бұрын
One of the worst displays of irresponsible snag fishing i ever seen. Horrendous angling.
@jacoblondoncarper48572 жыл бұрын
How did you come to that conclusion? The first take I was immediately on the rod, it had gone straight through a snag and cut me off. The second went into the same snag, so I let it run and landed it from in the snag (unharmed) I then realised the snags below the surface were worse than I thought, so I fished off the spot. How you think any of the above is irresponsible I can't understand. As a result of not fishing against the snags i caught no more from that spot. So I would say there was nothing I could have done better. I'd be open to hear the reasonings for your statement though.
