Great video Nick! That denim jacket looks fantastic. I bought the Moose Knuckle 3Q jacket about 11 years ago for 800 Cad$ and it's been great. Tough materials and I've worn it in -30c weather just fine. I think it's on sale right now at 900 usd. It's a good buy if you like the look and it's still (sort of?) made in Canada

Charles Tyrwhitte makes a great peacoat. it’s 100% wool, and around $450, though it’s usually on sale. I don’t know how heavy it is, but I wear it all the time in Chicago in the dead of winter without issue.

I was going to say the same. All are way too warm for Australia generally, but especially the northern half. It's cotton and leather jackets for me, with layers underneath (such as a wool jumper) when it's colder.

@ I’ve got a bit of a thing for vintage Harris and Donegal Tweed jackets, and older Vintage leather jackets. Being where I am I’ve never really worn them! Just branching out into heavier Japanese denim. They’ll be ok in Winter. Does get a lil cool but it’s for a few weeks only lol! Looks alright wearing them in the air con though 😂

It doesn’t get a lil cold here but not cold enough to wear any of the awesome jackets you displayed. I have Vintage Harris and Irish tweed jackets I bought but have never worn! I have to come to NY when it’s cold and pack all the clothes I never wear! 😂

Great video Nick. My aunt got a 1940s Woolrich Mackinaw that I ask for as a birthday present. Not only is it vintage, but it's much more affordable at 99 dolllars for this particular ebay buy. I asked you on instagram a few years ago whether or not a filson one would be right for me due to me having sensitive skin, and you said it's probably not a good idea. I checked this out and it's also lined. Btw, I've always wanted a Mackinaw Jacket because I saw On the Waterfront, so I'm so glad for you bringing that film up; it's one of the greatest movies of all time. Much love.

I have enough jackets to supply a few dozen broad chested men and Iron Heart’s deck jacket is no joke even here in Detroit. I don’t wear warm pants, just jeans and other cotton offerings, so I tend to wear longer Canada Goose parkas when I’m going to be walking the city

I used to love watching the Gentleman's Gazzette for similar videos, but lately they have gotten very long and stay too deep in the classics. You separate the history in another video AND you are also in New York, the state with the most biswinging temperamental weather lol. I love the B3 and N1 jackets. But i would have to move to a different state to be able to wear one. For me, the Filson mac cruiser is perfect for cold LA days - warm but miraculously breathable. I got a used one on EBay from the 2000s, super crispy and spent maybe 160 on it, 9 years ago. Vintage Pendleton cruisers are awesome as well, used to be 90 bucks for a perfect example, but times change, eh.

@TheBlues08813 күн бұрын
@@StridewiseNone is historically accurate. Most of them have rather bad cuts: too wide/narrow shoulders, long sleeves. I have seen roughneck (narrow shoulders, long sleeves, short back), A-2 (extremely wide shoulders and sleeves, too long sleeves, goatskin, polyester-cotton blend, like all others etc.), G-1 (long sleeves, too much sheep), B-15 (long sleeves), B-3 (pockets), ANJ4 (pockets etc.), N3B, B-10 (both different materials)..... Cuts are really bad for most of the jackets (like they still use their Avirex templates at cutting), I find their goatskin garbage in comparison to Eastman, but materials for non-leather jackets are superior. I mean you name me one jacket they do historically correct to originals.
