I absolutely love Screwtape Letters.. There is also a fully dramatized audio book of the Screwtape . Andy Serkis is awesome as Wormwood.

Well I didn’t see that coming. As a Protestant myself I find it strange that a book written by a non-catholic would be the turning point in your faith journey. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’ll probably pick it up someday. Several pastors have recommended it to me as they believe it will help with my writing.

Thank you on sharing it. It is an awesome book and one you should really read a few times through your life. What got me to learn more about Catholicism is G. K. Chesterton, and then C. S. Lewis. Both phenomenal thinkers and writers. From them, I went to Church Fathers and next is st. Thomas. Just make more of these videos, since they are wholesome! Just found you yesterday.

I did an undergrad degree in Philosophy and English which I loved. Then opting for a more practical career orientated Masters subject I chose to do Criminology. Well criminology was okay but very sociological, boring by comparison. My sincere advice. 🙏 Stick with Theology and Philosophy!. I wish I did that combination. Excellent if you have that interest and aptitude. So fulfilling. Bless you!

Have you ever read Lord of the Rings, written by Lewis's (very Catholic) friend Tolkien? It's pretty awesome how the books weave the Catholic faith into a fantasy narrative in a really cool into a sophisticated and fun way

He was Anglican and his closest friend Tolkien was Catholic, l'm sure he was very conversant with both theologies. The Screwtape Letters has a sardonic biting wartime blitz humour, as well as the sweetest grace. Lewis's "A Grief Observed"was recommended to me by a disordered behaving, atheist. Does that matter? Truth speaks to everyone, but some fall back into amnesia periodically, or forever, that's why we are exhorted to watch and pray, and to keep watch and to keep our lamps lit. God can use anyone, and frequently does so.

@@theknight8524 Thank you noble sir, so my church is a 5 minute walk away a cross a green - it would be churlish not too, "it's an offer l can't refuse" kinda thing. So, l hope your primary relationship (God) is as easy. I even get a lift to a distant Latin mass once in a while.

That's a great book indeed although I think that C.S. Lewis' The Great Divorce is even better
