I’m so glad you posted this video! I have been wearing exclusively dresses and skirts for over a year now, and I have so much to say about this topic! For one, I am excited that this is becoming a trend on social media. Natalie, you mentioned that dressing up in skirts and dresses is more professional - I totally agree! I am in college right now and believe that it is a privilege and something that is worth me dressing up for. Unfortunately, college is such a casual place, no one dresses up for classes. Some days it is such a sacrifice to dress up in skirts and dresses, because I know that people judge and look at me strange for it, and because I don’t want people to think I am too focused or for classmates to shrink away from conversation with me. However, this week a classmate said to me “I’m trying hard not to cuss in-front of you”. It shocked me because God was trying to show me that my outward modesty was causing my classmate to use modesty with her speech. Dressing in skirts and dresses is a sacrifice but it is so worth it for all the good fruit that comes from it! Thank you for making this video! I hope that it encourages more women to start dressing modesty feminine! May God bless you! 💕

This needs to be talked about more. I'm a Muslim woman who covers in the traditional way (headscarf etc) and have worked in secondary schools for many years. I've noticed the young men are always more cautious around me, almost as if it stirs their own forgotten sense of shyness and virtue. One of the main reasons I continue to cover is actually this. We need more of the energy that inspires us towards God and less that pushes us further into the abyss of self-worship.

I've always thought the more Catholic women wear dresses the better, just like with men wearing suits. Especially at Mass

Isn't Mary (as usually depicted by Christian artists) a bit _too_ modest for Christians these days, because if you dressed like her today you'd likely get the "As-salaamu `alaykum!" treatment?

I had the same feeling 5 years ago and since then I have been wearing only dresses and skirts, I don't have a pair of jeans anymore and I feel really great about it. I don't need them. Maybe the society needs more feminine women and thats why the Lord calls some of us to do so. ❤

I recently bought a bunch of dresses,and while I'm not wearing them exclusively, I love how feminine I feel in them. For many years I worked in jobs that were heavy labor, so pants were much more practical. Now I work inside a building and when I wear a dress I feel much more like myself (if that makes sense). It's been nice to have space at work to be the feminine version of myself. I'm not sure if I'll take it on exclusively as of this point, but I appreciate you telling your story.

In 2005 after graduating college I was praying about what to do next about a job but instead God clearly showed me that I should wear skirts and dresses all of the time and I threw out all of my pants and jeans! I felt and have seen God’s work in this, women’s and men’s reactions have shown me Gods work in modesty and dressing feminine. I believe God wants this for all women but each has to discover this on their own.

Hi, I am a Lutheran married woman of 22 and I also only wear dresses and skirts. I live in Sweden where it does get really cold in winter so then I wear warm leggings underneath, and it works fine. The only time I wear trousers publicly is at the gym and when horse riding, a great passion of mine. Otherwise it is always skirts and dresses, every day, below the knee length. It is way more comfortable than trousers and makes me feel more feminine and modest. Growing up I was a tomboy and didn´t always like being a girl, but at 18 I came to faith in Jesus and soon felt it was time for a wardrobe change. Looking back I can see it matched the change of my heart and my desires.

Wonderful Nathalie, always great seeing women embrace their femininity and dressing modestly. There is just something alluring about a woman wearing dresses, it will not doubt clash with our feminist culture but go for it, it will be better for you and your faith. Take care and God bless.

I dont see it as clashing with feminist culture because true feminism is about doing what makes you feel empowered as a grown women, as long as no man or society is pressuring you to dress more "feminine".

I'm always happy to hear other women share about their experiences wearing only skirts/dresses. I started to do so as an experiment almost ten years ago: I figured that women and girls had been wearing them consistently up until relatively recently, so why couldn't I see what it was like? Well, I never went back to jeans and pants. I'm an Anglican (so, as close to Catholic as one can get, yet still be Protestant), and I suddenly felt a conviction to look distinctly feminine all the time. I love being a woman and embracing that femininity, and I notice that men seem to be more courteous and respectful. Not that one's attire should be a condition for being treated well, but other women have noticed the same about markers of femininity (i.e., skirts) somehow bringing out the positive masculine traits in men. My husband doesn't understand why the skirt-wearing is so important to me, but he supports my decision. I also feel more confident because my outfits are more 'put-together'. I feel better mentally and physically in skirts rather than pants, and I even wear them at my merchandise-stocking job and still manage to be comfortable and modest. I feel there must be women and girls out there who would like to dress 'the way we used to', but are worried they'll be considered old-fashioned or uptight for not conforming to casual clothing standards and the increasingly blurred lines of gender expression. So when I see skirts and dresses trends catching on social media, I feel optimistic. Maybe more girls and women will feel they can wear and enjoy them, and not just for formal occasions!

I grew up in the country, farm boy, and all my female acquaintances were farm girls. The dresses and skirts are fine for school and church, shopping in town, visiting, etc. But frankly in real life the farm girls and women I interact with, going on 50 years now, dress in practical overalls, coveralls, denim jeans, work boots, wellies, ball caps. Life is tough for a lot of folks, and the work we do requires compromises. I do have a tweed jacket I wear to Mass fairly often, but my suits hanging on the wall are just gathering dust, some are 30 years old and haven;t been off the hanger in years. I do have a 3 piece which I wear on rare occasions. My uniform is a pair of overalls and leather work boots year round, with an extra layer of insulated coveralls and a carhaart coat in the winter. It is nice to see the ladies in Church modestly dressed and veiled, I attend the TLM, so thank you for your witness. Hopefully more women aspire in that direction.

I'm 73, when I was a young girl going to church with my mom we only wore dresses, never above the knee. Men never had to be distracted from the mass because of a female in revealing clothing. I think churches should address this more as now a days anything goes. I saw a girl about 14 at mass, in the shorts so tight I was taken aback. Why would her mother allow her to wear that not teach her better. Mothers need to do better for their daughters.

I think most people don't like to dress for Mass for two reasons: 1. They are ashamed that they might be virtue-signaling 2. Most people are overweight and/or obese First, Mass is not about you and second, gluttony is a sin.

Congratulations on deciding to go against the tide. That takes a lot of courage...and it is not a Catholic thing...but I think it is what Christ expects of us...men and women. I am LDS (aka Mormon) and the LDS Church publishes a pamphlet on all things to do with "modesty" (one of which is dress...just as the Spirit has impressed upon you). The pamphlet is called "For the Strength of Youth" and encourages many of the areas to which you have alluded. You can probably Google it and get a PDF copy and if you read it, you may find other ideas along the same lines that have been revealed to you. This is not a veiled attempt to proselyte you in any way and if you download it I don't think anyone will call on you...but it will reassure you that there are like-minded people in the world fighting against the radical wrong. Good luck as you continue to follow Him.

I wear exclusively dresses and skirts. But i have aspergers so i tend to go into things a bit more radical than neurotypical people. Once i decided dresses are the thing, pants became torture😆 But i think it is very dangerous for that thinking to apply to all women. Pants on women are not sinful. And Pius Xii guidelines do not apply to every culture, but i would adhere to them when visiting the vatican What is way more important is, that we live our femininity. Clothes can be a part of that, but we should never put people into a costume. Femininity has the job to say yes to God, and to the children of God, like Mary did. You can do that in pants. I think if you try to do that, it is not important what you wear, you will be inherently feminine. But a feminine way of dress can help to be an outwardly sign of that inner disposition of the heart, but it is not necessairy. God will always look at the heart in the end.
@JessicaC-ke5cj

Pope Pius created those guidelines for mass. They were guidelines. Not rules. It’s not so much the clothes but what God sees in our souls that matter. If people want to wear dresses and skirts 24/7, that’s great. If they don’t, that doesn’t make one less feminine or not following God to the fullest. It’s simply a different expression of the same femininity.

I asked my buddies if this was saving the West or cringe. They agreed that it could be a form of prelest (spiritual pride) and consumer moralism. Not indicative of a heart posture change. However, they are not Catholics. I think about our Lady Queen of Heaven who is cloaked in the sun and in the moon - in grace. And that seems more important than any article of clothing as long as it is not sinfully vain or revealing.

Living in accordance with God's will for us is now prideful? And does that then mean living outside His will becomes pious? You lost me with that logic. We are fallen creatures and so rarely is anything we do going to be from completely pure motives. But there is a vast difference between praying loudly on a street corner for all to see and dressing with some modesty.
@TotallyMarian
@TotallyMarian 4 ай бұрын
That last thing is key, though. Who says what is "sinfully vain or revealing"? Because most people claim this is subjective. If that's the case, then I could wear a speedo as a man no matter the occasion as long as the women I'm around claim they're not aroused by it? As you can see, the premise of 'too revealing' being a not objective standard leads to a bad path...who's to say wearing no clothes at all isn't too revealing? I am wondering, you mention 'saving the West,' so you clearly agree the West needs saving. People have different ideas of when in history it could first be said that the West was in need of saving, although most agree that by the 1960's sexual revolution, the West was absolutley in need of saving in anyone's point of view. So what began changing during that time in a large scale? Well, among other things, women not only began wearing more revealing clothes, but also wearing men's clothes (pants). If the West is in need of saving, and the time this need began 'coincided' with the time women began dressing like this (among other things), isn't it logical that one of the things needed to do to 'save the West' is, I dunno, undo the things that put it in need of saving? Just food for thought.

Being feminine and modest is not only a question of dressing. Furthermore there are a lot of ways to dress in other clothes than dresses and look feminine and very modest, in many cases even more modest, because such other dressing will not focus on being attractive to men anymore. As long as the focus stays on the clothes, you have not really reached the deeper relationship with Christ. Of course your dresses could be a transition phase that leads you there. In your dresses you feel what later you may really become. And when you have come that far you will not be looking at your or someone else's clothes anymore. You'll see the dignity and beauty behind. There is just one thing you have got to be aware of: It is possible to never reach this point. It happens to many because of the pride that accompanies an outwardly pious lifestyle which is more concerned with the exterior, with traditions and with how your group of people and the world perceives you than what you really are and what lies on the inside.

I am not often found in dresses and skirts. They can be lovely, but sometimes impractical for my work or life. I don’t see them as intrinsically less modest than pants. However, I’m really glad that you feel you have come closer to God and have an easier time respecting yourself and others as people instead of objects when you wear them. That’s what it’s all about. Good luck and God bless!
