This thing is awesome as an electric guitar pre-amp also. I have it on full time on the Hi-Z input. I get closer to a clean fender amp sound using this than any other plugin from UA.

When using plugins that have unison tech, are you sacrificing anything by not recording with them on the front end or are you still getting the benefits of the unison by using those plugins post?

The big benefit of Unison is impedance matching - when loaded in a Unison slot the plug-in will change the electrical impedance of the Apollo's preamp to match the hardware being modeled. You won't get that interaction when using the plug-in after the fact, but you still get all of the same tone otherwise.

Great video. I particularly liked the part about using it as a de-esser. Looking at the manual, the side chain link only works when the plugin is in stereo, not in mono. However, if I load a mono plugin using the version of the plugin that requires the hardware, the SC Link light is turned on by default but you can't turn it off. When I use the native version of the plugin, I can't turn the SC Link off. Does that mean the Apollo version is technically disabled but the light is still on when in mono?

You can use a USB iLok, no internet needed.

Have it and every time I go to try using it and I compare it with other plug-ins I end up not using it go figure by the way nobody cares anymore about Beyoncé this one that one use this Plugin it’s so goofy like oh because they use it that means we’re gonna have automatic success.
