Said he wasn't a nice man, but turned out to be quite a nice man in the end. Truth be told, blokes like him used to be cheerful, welcoming types back in the day, but life in this country in recent years has turned them cold on the outside. Their hearts are still warm when they come across the few remaining decent people out there though. I'm like that myself these days. Very discerning when it comes to people and how much of my actual personality I show them. Especially after having to live back in my hometown for the past 6 years and dealing with the absolute 🔔ends that live around here. It's easier to come off as cold so they leave you alone.
